Don't you love it when a steward is on the receiving end of a ticking off? Pandey points and ushers the man away from her eye-line behind the bowler's arm.

Pandey drives off the back foot for four and follows it with a less convincing boundary through point.

Shrubsole comes back with two top-draw deliveries, one which invites a play and a miss from Rana and the other which narrowly misses the stumps as the batter shoulders her arms.

    Eventful over.

    India lead by 62 runs

Nat Sciver is into the attack and almost finds the breakthrough! It's full, Rana has a go and the ball flies between third slip and gully for four.

This is getting frustrating for England.

The resumption has caught everyone a little by surprise there. Is it any brighter than when they went off? It must be but I can't see it.

There's grey cloud as far as I can see. I fear we may not be playing until 18:30.

Malcolm, fear not. The players are coming back out. Kohli and Rahane strut to the middle, followed by the New Zealand team.

Great news, I didn't see that coming.

How can it be bad light when the floodlights are on? I assume they are bright enough for a day/night match so it shouldn’t matter what the cloud cover is.

This partnership is now worth 23. More significantly, England have not taken a wicket for about 50 minutes or so.

It's getting darker and darker here in Bristol.

They did look very convinced. At first watch, I thought I heard something too. But replays show no spike on Ultra Edge. England have now lost all of their reviews.

I think she's hit that! The slip cordon is convinced.

    She may have now, Phil.

Rana plays at a wide delivery, the ball goes through to Amy Jones and Shrubsole and the slip fielders think they heard a noise. It's given not out but England review.

Phil O'Rourke: How is Anya Shrubsole wicketless in this innings? Prodigious and oft unplayable swing. Absolute quality!

The queues are longer for coffee than at the bars during tea which probably tells you something about how the crowd differs in this Test to others but also how cold it is.

  15. IndW 222-7published at 15:36 British Summer Time 19 June 2021

Brunt is limping a little. A couple of overs ago she chased down the ball in the deep, took a little tumble over the rope and seemed to knock her left ankle.

The 35-year-old is made of stern stuff, though, as she bowls a maiden.

The England girls are starting to look frustrated - they know they need a wicket.

  17. IndW 222-7published at 15:32 British Summer Time 19 June 2021

Rana plays a brilliant flick through square leg for four but Anya Shrubsole comes back well, with lots of inswing and the perfect line.

Another play and a miss from Rana to end the over.

India are up against the ropes. They're ducking and weaving. But it's only a matter of time before England connect.

I'm always hesitant to compare men's and women's cricketers but there are parallels to James Anderson and Stuart Broad and Katherine Brunt and Anya Shrubsole. They have both been wonderful partnerships for England.

    A Brunt maiden for England.

It's looking pretty dark over at the World Test Championship final in Southampton, by the way. Tea was taken when bad light stopped play. We'll keep you updated.

Punch and counter-punch so far in Southampton. A real tussle. India on top?
