So, the weather looks good, we have a good crowd and we have the promise of some fireworks.

If you needed a little sub-plot, I give you Alex Hales v Eoin Morgan - the ignored man of England white-ball cricket against the national side's limited-overs skipper.

  14. Postpublished at 18:23 British Summer Time 29 July 2021

The Rockets come into this game with a 100% win record, which included that remarkable victory over the Superchargers last time out when they looked dead and buried before charging to their target.

The London Spirit lost their opener and were the victims of the weather, with their game against capital rivals, the Oval Invincibles, rained off.

So, we're missing some big players this evening. Dan Lawrence and Zak Crawley are both on England duty for Spirit, with Joe Root missing for Rockets for the same reason.

Mason Crane and Adam Rossington come in for Spirit, and Timm van der Gugten for the Rockets.

If you didn't catch the earlier game, you missed a superb innings from Trent Rockets' opener Rachel Priest who smashed 76 off 42 balls to propel her side to a new highest total in the women's side of the Hundred.

It was first blood to the Trent Rockets at Lord's today as the women's side from the Midlands beat the London Spirit.

Can the men's side from the capital level things up this evening?

We've already seen plenty of runs on a hybrid track at the home of the cricket. More please.
