That's us done for the evening - catch up with Matt Henry's report over here.

We'll be back tomorrow, when Birmingham Phoenix men and women take on their respective Oval Invincibles counterparts.

I hope you all have a better evening than London Spirit's men managed tonight. See you in a bit.

More from Eoin Morgan: "Each team will have their own basics. But it is building partnerships and starting as you do on 0 and not getting too far ahead of yourselves.

"I think a lot of teams have looked at the end result, particularly when chasing, rather than looking at the process that gets you there.

"Looking at the scoreboard and counting down and a physiological impact of counting down is positive and I think that's had an impact."

  3. 'Our basics have let us down'published at 21:23 British Summer Time 3 August 2021

London Spirit captain Eoin Morgan on Sky Sports: "The previous two games were disappointing but tonight we were completely outplayed with the bat, ball and in the field.

"The Superchargers used the momentum that they've had from previous games, but the previous games is what has let us down. We didn't do the basics well enough, and in a tournament where the format is short, relying on those basics is as important as ever and they've let us down.

"Every game we've played bar tonight it has gone right down to the wire, so we have had our chances. We haven't been too far away from where other sides have been. We've potentially give results to sides, rather than making them earn them.

"The wicket was good. David Willey had an outstanding night. When he takes advantage of continues you just have to say well done. They used slower balls most effectively as I've seen at Lord's for a while."

People are still working out what is a competitive score and winning total in The Hundred.

  5. 'It was nice to contribute'published at 21:16 British Summer Time 3 August 2021

Match Hero David Willey, talking to Sky Sports: "I've not contributed much so far so it was nice to contribute tonight.

"It's under unfortunate circumstances that I am captain at the moment with Faf du Plessis unavailable due to concussion, but it's a great responsibility to have and we've got a great group of lads.

"The first couple of games we made some small mistakes at important times, but we're starting to become good and hopefully we can get some momentum at the back end of the tournament.

"My goal at the start of the year was to stay fit, so a few performances along the way is nice, but I'm just enjoying my cricket. The atmosphere was amazing tonight and The Hundred has been exceptional."

That felt like a foregone conclusion from the moment David Willey sent the ball soaring out of Lord's.

As a captain and coach what can London Spirit do? Do they chop and change? You can try and prepare for next season now and see who has the potential to perform at this level. You need to check all your players.

That win takes Northern Superchargers to hird in the table, albeit they have played a game more than their nearest competitors.

London Spirit are doing a lot of heavy lifting down at the bottom.

I have very little doubt who is going to be the Match Hero here...

If it isn't David Willey I think there might need to be a stewards enquiry.

    Breaking

    Spirit 92-9

That was, genuinely, a terrible, terrible run chase.

London Spirit sinks to four losses from five games, with one washout in there too. They are firmly at the bottom of the table.

I agree. This is not what you want to see. As a spectator you don't want to know the result of the game with 50 balls remaining...

    I'm going to be honest...

It was an exciting first innings, but it has been a rubbish game.
