So, another entertaining Hundred game ticked off.

And we are not done for the day yet.

We've still got a potentially explosive encounter between Northern Superchargers and Welsh Fire from 18:00 BST, so take a little breather and get yourself back here for that.

    We go again!

Southern Brave bowler Tymal Mills on BBC Two: "We were a few short with the bat and they tied us down in the middle. We needed some early wickets and we didn't get those. But it's a long competition."

Trent Rockets batsman Dawid Malan, who made an unbeaten 62 off 43 balls, on BBC Two: "It was good to get off to a winning start. Our bowlers bowled exceptionally well. We've gelled well."

They showed us how to chase a low total. They did what we couldn't do.

    It was all too easy.

Here is just a small taster of what Dawid Malan brought to this contest.

He got smacked on the hand a couple of times early on from Tymal Mills, but certainly had the last laugh...

The Brave lost this game with the bat in hand. 126 on this pitch is nowhere near enough.

The Brave bowled too many wides. They've got the pace and the firepower but they've lost their accuracy.

That's been a brilliant performance by the Trent Rockets. Southern Brave just haven't arrived. They didn't get going with the bat but I'd like to have seen a bit more creativiity with the field settings.

You have to say, that is very, very impressive display from the Trent Rockets. A statement win, really.

Dawid Malan and D'Arcy Short were magnificent.

What about the pre-tournament favourites, though? Hmm. Not great.

They have wheels in that bowling attack, but the sooner Quinton de Kock turns up, the better.

  11. Rockets win by nine wicketspublished at 17:05 British Summer Time 24 July 2021

Absolutely resounding. The Rockets have crushed the Brave here.

I don't think it'll be the last time you see Dawid Malan at the end of the innings.

Boom. Right in Short's ark. Over the rope it goes.

    One to win.

  15. Rockets 120-1published at 17:03 British Summer Time 24 July 2021

    Need 7 from 20 balls

The Brave batted out 51 dot balls. There's the culprit if they want to do an autopsy of this.

  16. Rockets 119-1published at 17:02 British Summer Time 24 July 2021

    Need 8 from 22 balls

Jordan is a top-drawer death bowler, but he simply has nothing to work with here.

Joe Root has been sat with his pads on for a while. Not sure he'll be needed. Certainly not for anything substantial.

  17. Rockets 116-1published at 16:59 British Summer Time 24 July 2021

    Need 11 from 25 balls

Chris Hughes has gone big. He says the Rockets are his favourites for the tournament now. He is a bit biased, mind!

They're winning this, though, for sure.

    It's Mills again, charging in.

Short crunches one off the back foot through the field and to the rope.

    Oof.

It has been high class from Short and Malan. The Southern Brave haven't had any answers.

The Southern Brave look a bit forlorn.
