  1. Post update

    Alex Hartley

Manchester Originals bowler on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

It was really hard to sweep, reverse sweep and play square on this wicket earlier but Miles Hammond certainly picked up that first shot really well.

I'm not at all surprised that Birmingham Phoenix won the toss and chose to bat first on this pitch.

  2. Phoenix 7-0

Fredrick Klaassen bowled well in the Originals' opening loss. He's a wildcard pick.

    Starts with a wide.

  3. Phoenix 6-0

On the boot. Big shouts from a full ball from Hartley that hits Allen on the foot. No finger, no review.

  4. Phoenix 4-0

Have it! Miles Hammond reverse pulls for four.

    Now we've started.

  5. Phoenix 0-0

We start with spin from Tim Hartley. A dot after all those fireworks.

    Daniel Norcross

Commentator on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

Couple of leggies in these two sides which will be very interesting.

Leggies are all the rage in T20 so why wouldn't they be the same in The Hundred?

There never used to be this many.

  9. Post update

    Here we go...

  10. Post update

    Isabelle Westbury

Ex-Middlesex captain on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

The Lathams missed a trick though didn't they by not calling themselves The Tom Lathams?

  11. Post update

    Daniel Norcross

Commentator on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

The crowd has probably increased by half of what it was before when the women's match finished.

It's about two-thirds full and there's some absolutely banging tunes from the DJ, a lot of them very accessible to the older man!

The Lathams were very good too with their brand of Franz Ferdinand-esque indie tunes.

  12. Post update

Birmingham Phoenix and England batter Liam Livingstone on Sky Sports: "It's going to be strange playing at Old Trafford as part of the away team. Hopefully I don't get booed - that's my biggest worry!

"We had no idea what was going on in the first game! As the tournament progresses it's going to get easier. I don't know what it is about it, there is something very different.

"I've always swung really hard, sometimes it's not been my greatest strength. I really enjoy the range-hitting part of my training and it's fun hitting big sixes.

"I've enjoyed the T20 franchise cricket around the world over the last couple of years and developing my game."

  13. Post update

    Daniel Norcross

Commentator on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

Chris Benjamin is the complete opposite end of the scale with this competition.

He's a guy who's been given a punt on an absolute whim and it paid off in spades the other night at Edgbaston.

He played some incredible shots and showed absolutely no fear of the occasion.

  14. Post update

    Stephan Shemilt

Cricketer commentator on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

This is what The Hundred's about.

Big crowd, Sunday evening and two sides packed with terrific cricketers.

This is exactly why this competition was created.

  16. Post update

Birmingham Phoenix captain Moeen Ali on Sky Sports: "It'll be tricky throughout but you want to bat first on these wickets. We're coming off a good win so we're confident.

"We've got to take the big boundaries into account. It'll be a different style of game to our last one, I'm not expecting a high-scoring game. Hopefully we get a good score and put them under pressure.

"We've got a very good coaching staff behind us and the guys are happy so far. It's nice to play with guys you don't see otherwise during the summer."

  17. Post update

Manchester Originals captain Jos Buttler on Sky Sports:

"We'd have looked to bat first too on a used wicket, but we'll have to play well and we're looking forward to the game.

"We're playing with the same team as last match and really looking forward to playing at our home ground.

"I really enjoyed the first match despite the loss and I think you learn quite a lot from watching the other games.

"It's going to be really interesting as the tournament unfolds but it's still a little bit 'suck it and see' for now."

  18. Post update

Just as with Jonny Bairstow last night at Headingley, tonight sees Liam Livingstone play on his home ground for the away side.

Can he do as much damage as Bairstow?

Finn Allen is another Lancashire lad playing for the Phoenix.

  19. Team news

Both sides are unchanged from their first game in The Hundred.

Manchester Originals: Phil Salt, Jos Buttler (c)(wk), Joe Clarke, Colin Munro, Tom Lammonby, Carlos Brathwaite, Calvin Harrison, Tom Hartley, Fred Klaassen, Steven Finn, Matt Parkinson.

  20. Toss

Birmingham Phoenix win toss and choose to bat

Moeen Ali called tails as the coin went up and that's the way up it landed on the stage.

His side will have a bat.
