Leg-spinners can always turn the ball further as they can impart more spin as they turn their wrist.

It does make it harder to land, that's always the risk. But if Matt Parkinson can bowl like that on pitches in the UAE as part of England's T20 squad, he's going to be a handful isn't he?

Manchester Originals leg-spinner Matt Parkinson on Sky Sports: "It was great to get Liam out, he'd been telling me this week he was going to bat halfway down the wicket to me.

"We are ahead in the game, fingers crossed the batters can chase it down."

Matt Parkinson, absolutely outstanding with the ball.

We've said he's bowled the ball of the century about three times already this season!

Manchester Originals outstanding in the first innings, but we know how difficult this pitch is to bat on.

Tahir lbw Parkinson 0 (Phoenix 87 all out)

    ALL OVER!

What a spell from Matt Parkinson. He has absolutely torn through the bottom order to dismiss the Phoenix for just 87.

    He ends with 4-9. Ridiculous.

  9. Originals review for LBWpublished at Ball 84

Imran Tahir comes out looking like a magician, with long silver hair and little beard.

His first ball traps him on the pad. Big shouts on the field but no finger from the umpire. Buttler reviews.

This could be the end of it.

Easy as you like, almost unfair really.

    Matt Parkinson strikes again!

    Helm c Munro b Parkinson 0 (Phoenix 87-9)

Like a hot knife through butter.

Poor Matt Helm didn't know what day it was. He just lobs a catch to Colin Munro at extra-cover.

Time after time after time, Matt Parkinson delivers.

That is a terrific bit of leg-spin bowling!

That's an absolutely ripping leg break from the England leg-spinner!

It's ball of the century stuff - Shane Warne did it on this ground so many years ago!

  15. wicket

    WICKETpublished at Ball 81

    Cooke b Parkinson 11 (Phoenix 87-8)

    An absolute beauty!

Pitches outside leg from Parkinson and hits middle and off. Cooke plays completely the wrong line. A pearler. That's wasted on Cooke.

Phoenix are going to have to go some if they're going to get something competitive.

A much-needed boundary as Milne lofts Brathwaite over mid-off.

Need a lot more of those.

Can the Phoenix get themselves up to 120? Anything less and you feel it simply will not be enough.

It's been a great start from Manchester Originals.

    Spin to win I'd say.

It's such a hard pitch to get the ball away. The ball just sticks in it and it's only going to get harder when Originals come to bat on it.
