High-quality start by the Superchargers. All three bowlers have executed their plans.

From a personal point of view I am delighted Carse has got that wicket.

He played a game not long back against us and Alex Hales hit one back at him and it hit him flush on the ear. It was a really nasty injury. We were really worried about him. It is great to see him out there competing.

Fair play to the young Durham fast bowler Matty Potts. He has made it really hard for Jason Roy to get hold of him there.

  8. Invincibles 4-0published at Ball 10

Matty Potts proving as tidy as David Willey. Sound start by the Superchargers.

When did Jason Roy last go this long without a boundary?

  13. Invincibles win the toss and batpublished at 17:57 British Summer Time 31 July 2021

The Oval Invincibles have won the toss against the Northern Superchargers in Leeds and chosen to bat.

They also batted first when they won their first game - on the opening night of the men's Hundred.

The Invincibles make two changes from that night, bringing in Jordan Clark and Tabraiz Shamsi.

Superchargers bring in Lancashire skipper Dane Vilas to replace Ben Stokes and young Yorkshireman Jordan Thompson comes in too, for Callum Parkinson.

  14. Reaching out to Ben Stokespublished at 17:53 British Summer Time 31 July 2021

This will be the first game the Superchargers will have played without their star man Ben Stokes since the competition began.

He was only scheduled to play in the first two before heading off on England duty - and Wednesday's game with Manchester Originals was then totally rained off.

But his absence tonight - on the ground where he played his most famous innings - will be felt even more keenly now in the light of his announcement on Friday that he would be taking a break from the game.

Whether it's for Durham, England or the Northern Superchargers, we wish him all the best, going forward.

  15. A nine-day wonder?published at 17:50 British Summer Time 31 July 2021

It's now nine days since the Oval Invincibles got the Mens Hundred off to such an exciting start, beating the Manchester Originals by nine runs.

But, due to the quirks of the fixture schedule and the weather, they haven't played since.

Last Sunday's London derby with London Spirit was washed out - and now Sam Billings' side have a bit of catching up to do.

Billings led from the front in that opening game, top scoring with 49 off 30 balls, clearing the ropes twice, taking a key catch and captaining superbly - and he will be looking for more of the same In Leeds.

  16. Welcome back . . .published at 17:47 British Summer Time 31 July 2021

It's time for the fourth Hundred game of the day as the Northern Superchargers men take on the Oval Invincibles men at Headingley.

The Superchargers are looking for their first win at the fourth attempt, while the Invincibles are yet to lose, after a win and a washout.

The weather forecast for Leeds tonight is slightly iffy. A bit of a worry after the Superchargers, having previously suffered two defeats, were also washed out in Manchester on Wednesday night.

But there's a good crowd in. Let's hope it stays dry and this spectacle serves up a game to remember - just like today's curtainraiser, in which the Superchargers' women won a low-scoring game against the Invincibles off the last ball.

Is that an omen as to how the men's clash will go on this sluggish pitch?
