The boundaries are short enough that if you show this intent South Africa will be able to get up to 180. Their place in the tournament depends on it.

That was a very good shot. Van der Dussen flicked and hoisted the ball away.
There we go!
Rassie van der Dussen times that impeccably as he lifts the ball high into the Sharjah sky and into the stands for six.

There was nothing subtle about that.
That will help. Rassie van der Dussen with a lusty swipe into the onside for four.
They all count.

South Africa will want to get a move on. They would want to be up near 42 at the end of the powerplay. They need to show a little more intent and be a bit more positive.
South Africa doing a good job of picking out the England fielders as they hit five singles off the fifth over.
That's nowhere near enough - they don't just need to win, they need to win big.

That's a great response from Chris Woakes, a really tight line and length to pin Rassie van der Dussen back into his crease for four dots.
It means South Africa are forced into a risky single off the last ball - a direct hit and Quinton de Kock could have been in trouble, but he is just home.
Lovely stuff. Rassie van der Dussen shuffles outside his off stump and plays a ramp shot round the corner and over short fine leg for four.

The bounce seems pretty true. De Kock looks like he trusts it. South Africa should be aiming for 185.
Rassie van der Dussen is the new batter and immediately gets off the mark with a single to mid-wicket.
Quinton de Kock then looks for another quick run with a dab into the offside but the England fielders quickly converged and he is forced back into his crease.

Hendrinks had to try something. This was his match-up - a right-hander against off-spin.
Moeen Ali does it again.

The two dot balls strike again.
Hendricks b Moeen 2 (SA 15-1)
Bowled him!
Reeza Hendricks knew he needed to step things up and went for a huge heave into the onside but got nothing on it and the ball clatters into his middle stump.
Great start for England, momentum checked for South Africa.

I would like to see get South Africa get up to 190 and keep us interested. Then all three teams could go out.

If South Africa are to get the sort of total that could knock out Australia or potentially England you feel De Kock is going to have to get a lot of runs.
Simple as you like. Quinton de Kock coolly takes a couple of quick strides down the track and dispatches Moeen Ali back over his head for four.
That's good from Chris Woakes (again), he's right on the money as South Africa struggle to get him off the square.
Just the three singles off the over.
