Time for us to leave it there for today...

I'll leave you with Matthew Henry's report from Trent Bridge...

There's some of the best clips from the game below for you to enjoy again, while there is an hour-long highlights show on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer at 23:00 BST.

We'll be back on Monday at 13:30 BST where England women's multi-format series continues against South Africa with the first ODI.

    See you then!

  2. 'Suryakumar magnificent to watch'published at 18:44 British Summer Time 10 July 2022

India captain Rohit Sharma: "It was a fantastic chase and we are proud of our fight. Suryakumar Yadav was magnificent to watch. I have been watching him for a while and he loves this format, he is unorthodox and has a wide range of shots. He never lets the tempo go. He has grown as player and is going from strength to strength.

"We tried everything we could. Hats off to England who put us under pressure. Some days it doesn't come off. I thought we bowled okay in the powerplay but that partnership put us under pressure.

"We were clear going into this game and see if guys could bowl four overs but there are things we need to keep working on. We understand where we are lacking. We are not a team who sits on their laurels and want to get better every game. These games are important to teach us things. I think we are looking pretty good at the moment."

  4. 'Much more like the England we're used to seeing'published at 18:40 British Summer Time 10 July 2022

England captain Jos Buttler: "It was good fun. It was a fantastic game of cricket and much more like what we're used to seeing from our side so I was really pleased, especially with the response with the bat.

"I thought we were a little bit above par. I don't think the wicket had the pace that they sometimes have here, but it was some innings from Suryakumar Yadav. It was one of the best hundreds that I've seen and he put us under a lot of pressure.

"The guys bowled well at the end and backed their yorkers and they thought they'd get a bit of tail and that can only help. I was pleased to see Richard Gleeson back it up with another performance and Chris Jordan has been excellent all series.

"We are blessed with options and even when we play the extra bowler we have a lot of all-rounders and bat quite deep. That is one of those things where we can be horses for courses and pick a team accordingly."

  5. 'In awe of Suryakumar'published at 18:38 British Summer Time 10 July 2022

Man of the match Reece Topley said: "I'm pretty to surprised to have won this. There were some great knocks today. I think it's about isolating every ball and working a way to come up with a plan that's difficult.

"We wanted to take early wickets. We were always that one wicket away and we just had to believe. Suryakumar Yadav's knock left me speechless. I haven't come across him much before, I was in awe.

"We are only at the start of the white-ball summer. I am just relishing what is to come."

Reece Topley has been given the player of the match award for his 3-22.

We'll bring you full quotes shortly but he said he was "speechless" by some of Suryakumar Yadav's shots.

    Here are Topley's wickets...

Dawid Malan and Liam Livingstone put on 84 earlier for the fourth wicket and they helped put momentum back into England's innings.

Malan made 77 off 39 balls, while Livingstone - who wasn't at his powerful best - made 42 from 29.

India will be happy with the run chase given how many changes. Although you don't get to understand much from the young players who came in just in for one game, then not play the next three or four games. I think these guys are good enough.

You'll be able to watch an hour-long highlights show from this game on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer at 23:00 BST.

Well worth a watch or sticking it on record.

A magnificent game, with some truly ridiculous shots.

To highlight Suryakumar Yadav influence. He hit 117 from 55 balls and the rest of India's batting line-up managed 72 from 66 balls.

The first two games were difficult for England but there are positives to come from this series.

Richard Gleeson has handled himself well in his first two games on the international stage, while Reece Topley bowled superbly today and arguably won England the game with his 3-22.

Harry Brook played a nice little cameo today too.

Suryakumar Yadav was eight off 12 balls. So that was 109 from the next 43 balls. That was the second highest score in T20s for India. One run behind Rohit Sharma's 118 against Sri Lanka in 2017. The second highest against England behind Aaron Finch's 156 in Southampton in 2013.

It feels quite ridiculous that Suryakumar Yadav has ended up on the losing side after that magnificent, swashbuckling 117.

It was full of incredible shots over point, the covers and all over the on-side.

Here's how his innings came to an end.

A clinical win but I'm happy for Jos Buttler. It's nice for the new boys in the dressing room - Harry Brook and Richard Gleeson - to get that first win. Getting over the line was important. Winning becomes a habit.

  15. Postpublished at 18:17 British Summer Time 10 July 2022

A first win for Jos Buttler as England's official captain then.

He's had to do some serious thinking in the last hour-and-a-half - it is never easy to defend a total at Trent Bridge and that will be partly why England ran out of time to bowl their overs and had to bring an extra fielder into the ring for the final over.

However, he's used his bowlers well and found enough regular wickets to pick up a consolation win in the series.

This is vintage Chris Jordan. He's a fantastic cricketer with many strings to his bow, but he's the best in the business at bowling these yorkers. When you think forward to the T20 World Cup England need to figure out their death bowlers. So if you have someone like Jordan with the ability to do it, he needs to be on that plane.

    Harshal c Gleeson b Jordan 5 (Ind 196-8)

Ramped straight to short fine leg!

Harshal Patel knows that Chris Jordan is going to try and bowl full so he pre-meditates the ramp but just loops it straight into the hands of Richard Gleeson.
