We're at the halfway mark. 120 won't do it, Pakistan need to up their run rate.
Phew, it's been frantic and thrilling stuff at the MCG.
Time for a bit of liquid refreshment.
Hardik Pandya, earrings in both ears twinkling under the space-age floodlights at the MCG, returns to the attack.
He is a little short and wide with his fourth ball and Iftikhar Ahmed flashes hard. The ball races away through gully for a much-needed boundary.
The India all-rounder drops his next ball in short but Iftikhar does not quite take the bait, and is able to control a pull for a single.

Not the start you want in a T20 match. Pakistan are definitely under pressure.
Spin for the first time today as Ravichandran Ashwin comes into the attack fresh after he was unable to take that catch cleanly.
Shan Masood and Iftikhar Ahmed happy to poke and prod him into the gaps to keep the scoreboard ticking along.
These two need to lay some sort of platform. Babar Azam had his eye on a total of at least 160.
Here's how Mohammad Rizwan was out earlier, taking on the short ball.
We might see a few dismissals like this today.

John Caffeine: Not sure how he didn't know that had bounced.

Beautiful let off there for Pakistan. Shan Masood survives.
The ball clearly hit the turf before Ravichandran Ashwin got his hands underneath to scoop it up. Shan Masood survives.
Another bouncer, this time from Mohammed Shami and Shan Masood takes on the hook. Once again the ball is careering down to the fielder at fine leg off a top edge.
India celebrate but has Ravichandran AshwinIndian claimed this cleanly? He took it diving forward.
Soft signal is out.

Let's not forget this man today as the World Cup returns to the MCG which now has a stand bearing his name.
Fans took photos by the Shane Warne statue before play.
He'd have loved this.
Certainly some bounce and zip in this pitch.
Shan Masood is caught a little bit by surprise by Hardik Pandya's final ball as it climbs into his helmet, but he's able to rock back and get bat on it to hook it for four.
There was some degree of top edge on that, but it evades the fielder at fine leg and scurries over the boundary for four.

The noise is ear-splitting at the MCG.
Speaking of run outs, here's that missed opportunity from Virat Kohli a little earlier.

Two things have been noticeable. The high skill from India's bowling and the inability of the Pakistan batters to adjust to Australian conditions.
Shan Masood managed to get his bat behind the line before the stumps were broken. He's safe.
India think they have a good shout of a run out here after the pumped-up Hardik Pandya hares down in his follow through and shies at the stumps forcing Shan Masood to quickly turn on his heels to get his bat down.
The umpires want a quick look.

That's the powerplay done. Babar out for a duck and Rizwan for four. India are on top.
