  1. Post update

    Babar Azam

Pakistan captain Babar Azam: "Our first two matches were a bit of a disaster but now we are playing much better as a team, we are much happier.

"We will take that confidence forward into this game and we will do our very best, we are looking forward to it.

"We know New Zealand have quality bowlers and batters so we will stay calm, relaxed and just got to play the situation.

"We are not looking at the final yet, we are focusing on this game."

  2. Post update

New Zealand captain Kane Williamson: "It is a used pitch with not much grass. So is the same pitch, but different. We have to react to the changing conditions and stick to our plans as a unit. We have to assess the conditions. There are a few unknowns as there are in all tournaments.

"It is an isolated match, so it is all about focusing on this game and trying to express ourselves with the cricket we have been playing."

  3. New Zealand win the toss and bat first

Kane Williamson gets the first win of the day, and opts to set Pakistan a total with an unchanged team.

  4. Welcome

    And then there were four.

It's time to find out who will be the first team to take their spot in the T20 World Cup final, as New Zealand take on Pakistan in Sydney.

New Zealand finished top of their group, only losing to England, and Pakistan are probably still in disbelief that they made it through having lost their two opening games.

Stay with us - we're in for a cracker this morning (or evening).
