What a powerplay for Pakistan. How different might it have been had this chance stuck?

I don't think I've ever seen an atmosphere like this at the SCG before.

The atmosphere here is just fantastic. New Zealand have got to make something happen, if they wait until after the powerplay it could well be too late.

    Target 153

Too short from Lockie Ferguson, over the keeper for four from Babar. Where's the spin?

I pulled up next to Marais Erasmus at a set of traffic lights the other day. He had the exact same stern expression on his face as he was waiting for the lights to go green, as when he is raising the finger.

Out of context umpires, that's a good game.

New Zealand are not having a great time out there. They're not reacting fast enough.

  7. Pak 47-0published at 5 overs

    Target 153

This time behind square on the leg side for four more from Babar. New Zealand aren't helping themselves. Bowling is scattergun, fielders moving all over the place.

He's carved it from outside off stump to over mid-wicket! It's a borderline slog but a great shot.

Rizwan is in the mood tonight.

  10. Pak 40-0published at 4.2 overs

Pakistan are flying here. Twice in as many balls Rizwan whips Southee to the mid-wicket fence.

It's been an excellent start from Pakistan.

They are riding a wave at the moment. They had the help from the Dutch beating South Africa, and everything has gone their way since they lost those first two games.

That is a thing of beauty. Babar Azam at his finest.

  14. Pak 29-0published at 3.1 overs

    That is delicious.

Lockie Ferguson comes into the attack and Babar Azam has played a beautiful cover drive straight down the ground off his first ball for another boundary.

It's too short and easy pickings for Rizwan.

New Zealand's bowling attack has been very settled, they've only used the five of them across the tournament.

  17. Pak 24-0published at 3 overs

Brilliant shot from Mohammad Rizwan. It is short and wide from Trent Boult and Rizwan has cut it away through point for another four.

15 off the over. Pakistan are flying.

Now it's too straight. Clipped for four. Boult's radar is awry.

Width from Boult. Slashed for four by Babar. Pakistan fans absolutely 'avin it.
