It's been a terrific start from Adam Zampa, I was excited to see him bowl in these conditions. He's bowled nicely, he hasn't missed his length yet.
Ow! Billings gets into a tangle and hits the ball into what I'll just say is 'the midriff'. You get the general idea...
Ooops. Billings slaps a reverse sweep towards Ollie Pope, but his England team mate misjudges the spin off the turf and concedes a four.

It's great to see Scrimshaw getting the recognition off his performances for Derbyshire. He's got those long levers and some pace.
Scrimshaw does give Jacks some width and he responds by flailing him away for a rare four to the point boundary.
Now for some leg-spin from Adam Zampa.

It's hard for the teams in this competition because they're still trying to figure out where they should be at each stage of the innings. With T20 you have an idea, here they're still figuring it out a little bit.
The pitch might be a touch slow and hindering the Invincibles' batters but credit to the Fire's bowlers for not giving them much to hit straight.
Billings tries to slice a wide one square but can only get two.
Check out this for consistency. 'On a sixpence'.

Really good start from the Welsh Fire. If they can come out of this powerplay unscathed then they might be able to control things.
Ryan Higgins is into the attack and fellow quickie Jake Ball does well in the deep for his team mate, sliding across to stop a boundary after Billings hit a full toss to leg.
Will Jacks has been anonymous so far but he slides Ball down to the third boundary for a much needed four.
End of the powerplay, and the Fire are well on top.

First wicket of the day was caught Payne, bowled Scrimshaw, the second one is caught Scrimshaw, bowled Payne.
Rossouw c Scrimshaw b Payne 5 (Invincibles 22-2)
The Fire are, erm, on fire!
Rossouw flashed outside off stump and saw his edge fly straight to Scrimshaw at short third.
Sam Billings is in to dig his side out of trouble.
Rossouw gets into his stride with a lovely straight drive from Payne that tears past the stumps for four.

That is a horrible way to get out as a batter. You probably wouldn't change the shot - it is a very instinctive shot to try and tickle it off your hip - but unfortunately for Jason Roy he's just hit it straight to short fine leg.
You could see the frustration and he's thinking 'oh no, not another low score'.
It is a good wicket for Welsh Fire because Jason Roy can be dangerous if he gets going.

That was a really sharp catch. That is a big wicket early on for Welsh Fire.
Roy c Payne b Scrimshaw 10 (Invincibles 16-1)
When your luck's out, your luck's out...
Roy tried to flip a leg stump ball off his pads round the corner but stuck it straight at David Payne.
Rilee Rossouw is in next.
George Scrimshaw is next but Roy has had enough of this slow-ish start, slapping his first ball to the square leg boundary.
Scrimshaw is sporting a moustache that can only be described as Mitchell Johnson-esque...
