  1. Post update

    Carlos Brathwaite

West Indies all-rounder on BBC radio

That was strange! Zak Crawley signalled to his pocket then, I wonder if that's what it hit.

  2. Spirit review

But now Crawley is given caught by the wicketkeeper! He doesn't think he's hit it and asks for a review.

  3. Post update

    Carlos Brathwaite

West Indies all-rounder on BBC radio

The pitch is good for batting and the outfield is rapid. You don't have to play funky shots, it was coming onto the bat nicely.

  4. Spirit 12-0

Better from Zak Crawley! Much better. Michael Hogan is heave for the games first six. The first of many?

  5. Post update

    Carlos Brathwaite

West Indies all-rounder on BBC radio

    Well, it wasn't too bad.

  6. Post update

    Henry Moeran

    BBC Radio

I introduced you to a chicken kiev upstairs, Carlos. You were a bit sceptical.

  7. Spirit 6-0

Zak Crawley could do with a score here to boost his morale going into the first Test against South Africa next week. Stoinis nips a good ball past his edge, however, in what is a good start after four early leg byes.

  8. Post update

    Carlos Brathwaite

West Indies all-rounder on BBC radio

This promises to be a real good contest. I'm interested to see how Brave go bowling first, but James Vince is very good at controlling chases.

  9. Spirit 0-0

    Here we go then.

Australia all-rounder Marcus Stoinis is going to start with the ball. England's Zak Crawley is on strike.

  10. Tonight's key match-up: Battle of the finishers

Tim David and Kieron Pollard, The Hundred

In the past couple of years Tim David has emerged as one of the most devastating and sought after finisher in Twenty20 and 100-ball cricket.

The 6ft 5in Singapore international has got immense power and is capable of clearing even the largest of boundaries.

He boasts a career T20 strike-rate of 164.34 and after featuring just twice for Southern Brave last year, will be a key part of the side this year.

David's big-hitting has seen comparisons drawn with - yes, you guessed it - Kieron Pollard.

The former West Indies international has played a remarkable 600 T20 and Hundred games, scoring more than 11,000 runs with a strike-rate of 151.22.

At 35, Pollard might be nearer to the end of his career than the start but he remains a formidable presence late in an innings, as his unbeaten 34 from 11 balls in London Spirit's win over Manchester Originals showed only too well.

  11. Post update

Brave skipper James Vince mentions knowing most of the London Spirit bowlers there. That's because four of them - Liam Dawson, Nathan Ellis, Mason Crane and Brad Wheal - play under Vince at Hampshire in county cricket.

Hampshire play their home games here at the Ageas Bowl too. Oh and they won the T20 Blast.

it's almost like both teams have home advantage here.

  12. Post update

Southern Brave captain James Vince: "I don't mind that it worked for us last summer pretty well.

"I do know most of their bowlers pretty. With this format you're going to have take them on so one of them is probably going to get me out so I'll have to deal with that and the consequences after.

"We got on the bus the other night and parked the defeat."

  13. Post update

London Spirit captain Eoin Morgan: "We've batted first in the first two games and had good results so there is a little bit of a formula there and confidence now.

"It is always difficult here because you play a game in the middle of the day with the sun coming out and then tonight is a bit different. A lot our batting mantra is trying to take the attacking option and putting pressure on the bowlers."

  14. Teams

Southern Brave: James Vince, Quinton de Kock, Alex Davies, Marcus Stoinis, Tim David, Ross Whiteley, James Fuller, Chris Jordan, Rehan Ahmed, Jake Lintott, Michael Hogan.

London Spirit: Zak Crawley, Adam Rossington, Glenn Maxwell, Daniel Bell-Drummond, Eoin Morgan, Kieron Pollard, Liam Dawson, Jordan Thompson, Nathan Ellis, Mason Crane, Brad Wheal.

  15. Post update

The news from the middle is Eoin Morgan, the London Spirit captain, has won the toss and opted to bat first.

    Here are the teams...

  16. Post update

This is an intriguing match up.

Southern Brave are the defending champions. They started brilliantly against Welsh Fire in the opening game but were Smeed-ed in their last game against Birmingham Phoenix on Wednesday.

London Spirit, meanwhile, were the whipping boys last year but have started with two wins from two.

  17. Post update

Southern Brave won the first match of this double header, despite Ben Mooney's brilliant 97 not out.

What will happen in the men's game?
