  1. Rockets 91-1published at 51 balls

Oh! Replays show that lbw shout on Dawid Malan would have been out, but the Invincibles wasted their one review on Alex Hales earlier.

Hasnain got the big wicket of Hales, he's only 22. Pakistan's wild-card bowler, what a talent he is.

  4. Rockets 89-1published at 50 balls

Mohammed Hasnain is causing problems here. After getting the wicket of Hales, he traps Malan on the pads but the umpire is unmoved.

Still, precious dot balls for the Invincibles at the halfway stage.

Quite a platform Hales has given Trent Rockets here. Interesting to see if Malan will now pick up that mantle and take it on.

Invincibles have their breakthrough, but Trent Bridge rises to its hometown hero as a fine innings comes to an end.

Hales goes for one swipe too many and just picks out the fielder on the mid-wicket boundary, but he has set his side a perfect platform here. Time for Malan to kick on.

Perfectly placed, two fielders out there on the deep mid-wicket boundary.

  9. Rockets 84-0published at 45 balls

It's been a one-man show for the past few balls but Dawid Malan finally joins in on the action, sweeping perfectly between the fielders on the leg side for four.

  10. ouch!

    Rockets 76-0published at 40 balls

Oooh! Matt Milnes bowls a superb yorker that absolutely smashes Hales on the toe.

The batter grimaces but claps his hand to the back of his bat in acknowledgement of a good ball.

That's what makes him such a special player! We just saw him smash one out of the park, and now he just guides it. He has as much finesse and power.

  12. Rockets 73-0published at 36 balls

A touch of class from Hales, just reminding us that it's not all about whacking it into the stands.

Guided past the fielder at point for four more.

It's been a pleasure to watch Alex Hales. What a player he is to watch when he's in the mood.

    Rockets 69-0

What a knock this is. Hales smashes the ball back past the bowler Mohammed Hasnain for four and that brings up a remarkable half-century from just 22 balls.

    Poor bowlers.

That's probably hit my car! Hales and Hasnain are Sydney Thunder teammates let me remind you.

Where has that gone? They're looking for it behind the pub, that is extraordinary. The cameras have lost it, the crowd has lost sight of it.

  17. 6 runs

    Rockets 61-0published at 31 balls

Do not bowl there. I repeat, do not bowl there.

Hasnain bangs one in halfway down the pitch and it sits up perfectly for Alex Hales to crunch into the stands for yet another six.

That's the biggest of the lot.

  18. Rockets 55-0published at 30 balls

    Hales 41, Malan 14

A tidy start from Narine, just seven from his first five balls.

Is this the best opening partnership in the competition? Who on earth would want to bowl to this?!

I think some of the rules in The Hundred, such as the new batter having to face the bowler, makes it bowler-friendly.

We saw in the first game today how that creates pressure.

  20. Rockets 50-0published at 27 balls

Invincibles captain Sam Billings turns to his trump card in Sunil Narine pretty quickly.

The spinner possesses all sorts of tricks, bowling with his arm behind him so that the batter can't see what he's going to do.
