Live Reporting

Mike Peter and Georgie Heath

All times stated are UK

  1. Superchargers 22-1

    Willey 0, Lyth 15

David Willey is the next man in. He's kept in check for now by Irish international Little, just the one wide from the set.

  2. Post update

    Haseeb Hameed

England opener on Test Match Special

Faf was suggesting to Adam Lyth there that his handle might've clicked which can sometimes deceive the umpire.

  3. WICKET

    Du Plessis c Salt b Little 6 (Superchargers 21-1)

But Little has his man next ball! Big heave from Du Plessis and it's taken behind the stumps by Salt.

Hold on though, the Superchargers captain is reviewing it... no, there's an edge there, not sure what he was thinking.

  4. Superchargers 21-0

Dropped! It's a tough chance for Colin Ackermann, Du Plessis pulls Josh Little hard into mid-wicket. A diving Ackermann can't quite keep hold of it.

  5. Superchargers 20-0

    Huge from Lyth!

Having hit four the previous ball, he launches it into the leg boundary. Tristan Stubbs sets himself and teeters on the rope, but he can't get anywhere near it.

  6. Superchargers 10-0

    Du Plessis 5, Lyth 5

Adam Lyth rides the bounce and punches through the covers for four more.

Lyth is topping the six hitting tables in this tournament - my colleague has just touted him for an IPL contract next spring. Is that a big call?

  7. Superchargers 4-0

Tristan Stubbs opens up the bowling and Du Plessis cuts him through to the boundary for four.

It's a strong start, they'll need plenty more of those.

  8. Post update

Temporary Originals captain Laurie Evans leads his side through a fog of dry ice.

His opposite number Faf du Plessis walks out into the middle with Adam Lyth. Here we go...

  9. Post update

Thanks Georgie - that wasn't just quite something, it was a lot of something.

What can Northern Superchargers pull out of the bag? We're about to find out...

  10. Post update

That's the highest ever score in the Hundred and it saw huge sixes, massive knocks, ebs and flows, cameos and just about anything else you can think of.

I can't emphasise this enough but that is a gargantuan score and I can't remember the last time I saw hitting like that.

Also...side note...they didn't even have Jos Buttler in the team today! Absolute scenes.

The start is so crucial for the Superchargers. They've got the home support and we all know the Northern crowd can get behind their side and they'll be making all the noise at Headingley tonight.

Remember that the women's team chased down a staggering total this afternoon so they will be able to draw on that for inspiration and make it rain sixes. Purple rain? Does that work? I'm unsure!

Anyway, to see you through the mega chase, I leave you in the capable hands of Mike. That was really quite something wasn't it Mike?

That is an outstanding effort with the bat for the Manchester Originals. We thought 200 was on, then it was off and then it was on again with balls to spare.

  12. Originals set Superchargers record 209 to win

That's a blistering innings from the Originals.

    Some MEGA striking.

  13. WICKET

    Walter c Lyth b Raine 26 (Originals 202-5)

He just tried to go big one too many times and it found Lyth on the boundary.

A great innings and he looks so disappointed to have missed out on three more balls to hit.

  14. 200 UP WITH A SIX FROM WALTER

202 from 96 balls and it comes up with a huge six from Walter.

  15. Originals 195-4

    Walter 20, Ackerman 3

There's still five balls to go and the 200 could definitely still be on...this innings has ebbed and flowed and it's really had everything.

What do the final five have in store...

We have seen a LOT of runs here throughout the day.

    Scott Read

    BBC Test Match Special commentator

Cheers from the home supporters as Stubbs goes.

  17. WICKET

    Stubbs c Simpson b DJ Bravo 46 (Originals 188-4)

Stubbs falls short of his half-century as he top-edges it and Simpson is not dropping that.

A tap on the back from DJ Bravo recognises just what a knock that was.

    Scott Read

That has reached the upper tier behind the bowler.

  19. Originals 187-3

    Stubbs 46, Walter 15

Into the upper tier from Stubbs.

ONE HUNDRED AND TWO METRES. WOW!

    Is the 200 back on?

Next ball a reaction stop from DJ Bravo and those not paying full attention think it's a catch. It's all going on but I can confirm he hit it into the ground.
