This is the other problem now. If you've got your fine leg back more often than not, your mid-off comes up. Players who can go over the top and execute the ramp are just so hard to bowl at.

  2. Originals 143-5published at 96 balls

Hammered down the ground for four!

    Raining boundaries now.

  3. Originals 139-5published at 95 balls

It's Ashton Turner's time now! He repeats the ramp, nails it and it flies for four more.

These are important runs here for the Originals.

I think with Lammonby, you've got to have your fine leg back. It's way too dangerous to keep the fine leg up.

    Phil Tufnell
Former England spinner on BBC Two

He got right across the off stump, he just managed to get under it. It's a nice bit of momentum for Manchester Originals now.

  6. Originals 134-5published at 93 balls

Shot! Lammonby swivels in his crease and ramps the ball over the keeper for four!

Looking at the replay and he's walked about two metres across his stumps, it's madness. Such a skilful shot.

  7. Originals 130-5published at 92 balls

Welcome to The Hundred, Tom Lammonby! He lofts Kane Richardson up and over the fielders on the off-side for a precious four.

  9. Originals 125-5published at 90 balls

Tom Helm with another tidy set of five balls and Originals have got 10 balls left.

We saw the Originals women defend a low total earlier, however. So you never know!

This is a good period for Phoenix. They've got couple of quick wickets and got the danger man.

  11. Originals 122-5published at 86 balls

A very handy boundary for Tom Lammonby and Originals need to scamper every single run here.

  12. Originals 117-5published at 85 balls

Tricky position for the Originals now with Tom Lammonby and Ashton Turner at the crease, who are both playing in their first games this year.

The camera finds Phil Salt in the dugout who still looks very grumpy. But it did take him a long time to signal the review so it's probably fair.

Phil Salt is livid! They have run out of time; it's not a happy birthday as he is not a happy man.

That is a beauty, absolutely beauty. He's gone with a heavy offside field but this straight delivery has just done him.

  15. wicket

    Salt lbw b Richardson 56 (Originals 113-5)

Oh, a beauty! And it's the big wicket of Phil Salt!

Kane Richardson bowls full and straight right on Salt's toes and it clips him bang in front of the stumps.

And he sends it for a review but the umpire says it's too late, he's exceeded the 15 second limit! And the replay shows it's not out because it hit him outside the line.

A BIG moment. How crucial could that be?

I still think Manchester Originals are in a decent position. One man is already set, so that will give them comfort. I think they'd want to be looking at another 40 runs.

  17. Originals 111-4published at 80 balls

It's Phil Salt's 26th birthday today and I feel a midlife crisis coming on now that I know he's younger than me.

I mean, it's like two weeks younger. But still.

Anyway, what can Originals manage from their last 20 balls?

It's again that knuckle ball! It can dip one way or the other. It's just his natural variation as he's been bowling it for many years, Benny Howell.

  19. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 76 balls

    Walter c Brookes b Howell 1 (Originals 107-4)

Howell strikes again! Originals starting to crumble.

Paul Walter takes a big swipe and the ball just flies off the edge as the slower ball works once again for Benny Howell, who has three wickets to his name now.

    A great spell of bowling.
