    Henry Moeran

    BBC Radio

The danger is, with the field up on the off-side, you're going to get hit if you bowl wide outside off stump.

  2. Phoenix 10-0

Oval Invincibles turn to spin in the shape of 18-year-old Sophia Smale.

The spinner drops short and a little wide and Sophie Devine is able to crunch it away through the covers and pick up her first boundary.

  3. Post update

    Alex Hartley

Former England bowler on BBC Radio

There's no need to poke and prod when you can play shots like that.

  4. Phoenix 5-0

A sloppy start from the Invincibles as Mady Villiers throw back to the keeper Lauren Winfield-Hill is wayward and Phoenix are able to scamper through for a single.

Oh, wow. That's a pressure reliever. After three dots it felt like the pressure was building on Eve Jones but the left-hander comes down the track and slaps Shabnim Ismail away to the boundary.

    A decent start.

    Matthew Henry

    BBC Sport at The Oval

They get behind the Invincibles well here. The crowd is not a big one yet but they made plenty of noise when the players emerged onto the pitch.

  6. Post update

    Right, time for some cricket.

Sophie Devine, one of the best and most destructive openers in the world, is in the middle alongside Eve Jones.

Devine will have pace to work with because Shabnim Ismail is going to open the bowling.

    This should be interesting.

  7. Today's match-up: It's all about the impact

    Alice Capsey and Amy Jones

Oval Invincibles' Alice Capsey and Birmingham Phoenix's Amy Jones are both high-impact players for their respective sides.

When Alice Capsey isn't tonking the ball out of the ground for fun, she's chipping in with her handy off-breaks to take wickets.

She boasts the highest strike-rate in the women's competition (188.46) and has amassed 49 runs from her two innings in addition to the two wickets she's taken.

With 94 runs from three innings, Amy Jones is her side's second highest run-scorer this season. When she's not got bat in hand, she's always present with her slick glovework behind the stumps.

    Matthew Henry

    BBC Sport at The Oval

    Hello from the Oval.

Happiest person here today? Manchester United fan Carlos Brathwaite...

  9. Post update

Here's how the women's table is shaping up as we've gone past the halfway point in the group stage.

Birmingham Phoenix have been imperious so far and will go back to the top of the table with a win today. It feels like they are in a direct competition with Southern Brave for top spot and a place straight in the final at Lord's at 3 September.

Oval Invincibles were beaten by Southern Brave at home but have won their other two games and they are in a decent place to reach the knockout stages.

    Women's Hundred table: Brave 8, Phoenix 6, Rockets 4, Invincibles 4, Superchargers 4, Originals 2, Spirit 0 and Fire 0
  10. Post update

    Alex Hartley

Former England bowler on BBC Radio

Birmingham Phoenix are the team to beat.

  11. Post update

Oval Invincibles captain Dane van Niekerk: "It has been tough sitting out but it is worse having a world-class player like Marizanne sat on the sideline with a little niggle. It's just a precatuion.

"Hopefully if we get our plans right we'll come out on time. It is a cliche about plans and execution but that is what cricket comes down too."

  12. Post update

Birmingham Phoenix captain Sophie Devine: "We would have had a bowl too with the conditions but we think it is going to be a good cricket wicket.

"The group has been fantastic, different players have stood up at different stages and hopefully that continues today."

  13. Teams

    Birmingham Phoenix warm up

A couple of changes for Oval Invincibles as Dane van Niekerk and Emily Windsor come in for Marizanne Kapp, who has a slight quad niggle, and Kirstie White.

Just one change for Birmingham Phoenix with Phoebe Franklin coming in for her first appearance of the season in place of Gwen Davies.

Oval Invincibles: Suzie Bates, Lauren Winfield-Hill, Alice Capsey, Dane van Niekerk, Mady Villiers, Kira Chathli, Emily Windsor, Eva Gray, Ryana MacDonald-Gay, Shabnim Ismail, Sophia Smale.

Birmingham Phoenix: Sophie Devine, Evelyn Jones, Amy Jones, Ellyse Perry, Sophie Molineux, Georgia Elwiss, Phoebe Franklin, Issy Wong, Emily Arlott, Kirstie Gordon, Abtaha Maqsood.

  14. BreakingOval Invincibles win the toss and bowl first

Oooh, Dane van Niekerk returns for Oval Invincibles.

She wins the toss as Sophie Devine calls incorrectly for Birmingham Phoenix.

Van Niekerk fancies a bowl first.

  15. Post update

    Afternoon!

Hope you're all well and ready for another day of exciting high-octane cricket.
