  1. Post update

    Here we go then.

Captain Tammy Beaumont and newly-promoted Sarah Bryce make their way to the middle. Can they turn Welsh Fire's fortunes around?

  2. Today's match-up: Spin to win

Today's match-up is between two spinners, one a youngster and the other a World Cup winner.

At just 21 years old, Charlie Dean has been entrusted with her side's leadership. Her returns with the ball have been thin thus far and she'll be keen to lead from the front this time around.

While Alex Hartley's side has struggled in this year's competition, she's personally had a pretty decent tournament. She's the fourth most economical bowler in the competition and she's also managed to pick up three wickets from as many outings.

We've seen spin play an important role in this year's competition and it'll be interesting to see which one of these two does a better job at restricting the opposition.

  3. Post update

Welsh Fire's Alex Hartley speaking to BBC Sport: "Every team has a tough game like that. We got in the change room and said park it and move on. We were just on the wrong end of a bad result."

"We had a training day yesterday, I had a day off and had a chill."

"We want to go out there and bat, bowl and field well."

"We'll go out there and try and play our best cricket. We feel like we can win, any team can win. Three percent is better than no percent."

"I'm always smiling. It's just a game of cricket and I just enjoy it. Whatever happens on the field, the sun still comes up tomorrow."

"I haven't been back at Lord's since the 2017 World Cup and it's nice to be back here."

  5. The teams

London Spirit: Beth Mooney, Danielle Gibson, Sophie Luff, Amelia Kerr, Charlie Dean (c), Naomi Dattani, Alice Monaghan, Grace Scrivens, Freya Davies, Megan Schutt, Grace Ballinger.

Welsh Fire: Tammy Beaumont (c), Sarah Bryce (wk), Katie George, Maddy Green, Fran Wilson, Nicola Carey, Lauren Filer, Annabel Sutherland, Claire Nicholas, Alex Hartley, Hannah Baker.

  6. Post update

Welsh Fire captain Tammy Beaumont: "Things haven't quite gone our way chasing so we want to get some runs on the board, apply some pressure and hopefully get our first win.

"Hayley Matthews has left us so Maddy Green from New Zealand comes into bat at number four and Sarah Bryce moves up to the top.

"Unfortunately Rachael Haynes is still unwell so hopefully she will be back at the weekend for us.

"It's always great to come to Lord's, some of the girls have never been so there are probably some nerves around but what's gone is gone, we've just got to play good cricket and find a way to win.

"I'm feeling nervous too. I have found that captaincy has been tough. Obviously the losses compound everything but there is a lot going on off the pitch too. There's a lot more to it than you sign up for, but at the same time I have loved it. I've learned a lot from doing it."

  7. Welsh Fire win the toss and bat first

Tammy Beaumont opts to bat first at Lord's, saying that they haven't chased well in the competition so far so it's a welcome change.

It looks a bright sunny day in London so that looks like a good move. We'll have the team news for you shortly.

  9. Welcome

    Good afternoon!

It's the battle of the bottom two today as London Spirit host Welsh Fire, with both teams yet to win a game.

Both are effectively out of the competition - a loss today will confirm that. But they will be desperate to leave with a bit of pride intact. Who's it going to be?
