England captain Amy Jones: "I am just proud of the whole group. The way everyone stepped up was brilliant.

"It has been very different and quite daunting going into the first game. As a group we knew it wasn't an ideal circumstance. That is why it makes it even better."

On Alice Capsey: "She is so good. She has all of the shots and plays so freely. It is refreshing to see. I am very happy she is on our side."

On Sophie Ecclestone's role as a leader in the side: "She has been brilliant helping out with everyone. She has made the whole thing a lot smoother and is a banker with the ball - world class."

India captain Harmanpreet Kaur: "We were 20 runs short but we should give credit to our bowlers. Because of them we were still in the game.

"We were not able to bat in the way we wanted to bat. In any cricket you need a decent total on the board."

"A few have tried to step up and we are quite a young team. The results speak for themselves."

England will take a lot of confidence that they won without their big guns in Nat Sciver and Heather Knight.

Of course England did a lot of the hard work with the ball.

They reduced India to 52-6, although the tourists did manage to edge to 122-8.

Alice Capsey is, for me, the best talent I have seen for a long time in English cricket.

Sophia Dunkley broke the back of the chase with 49 before Capsey steered England home amid a little wobble.

It's been a good game for England. India were always playing catch-up after losing three wickets in the powerplay. England had a 50 opening partnership which put them in the driving seat and England were clinical in the end.

The 18-year-old ends on 38 not out, nervelessly guiding her side to victory with 10 balls to spare.
