    Scotland 245-2 v Italy

A dot to finish from Grant Stewart, but that has been an incredible performance with the bat from Scotland, who were stuck in to bat remember.

Oli Hairs finishes 127 not out from 53 balls - the joint-highest score by a Scot in T20Is, equalling George Munsey's knock against Netherlands in 2019.

Munsey did it in more balls though, so Hairs can claim bragging rights.

    It's also Scotland's second-highest total in T20Is.

The Grange has been treated to something really special there.

    Scotland 243-1 v Italy

A single takes Oli Hairs to 126 from 52 balls, and Michael Leask then helps one off his hip down to fine leg for the umpteenth boundary of the innings.

    WICKET McMullen c b McMullen 96published at 19 overs

    Scotland 238-2 v Italy

Heartbreak for Brandon McMullen, who is caught on the midwicket fence for 96 off 50 balls.

He's batted superbly alongside Oli Hairs, but falls just short of a first ton in T20Is.

Michael Leask has been pushed up the order.

  5. Postpublished at 18.5 overs

    Scotland 238-1 v Italy

Harry Manenti is given the thankless task of bowling at these two, but he starts the 19th over with three singles and a dot.

The lack of runs don't last long though, as Brandon McMullen crashes one through the covers for four.

    Scotland 225-1 v Italy

Ahahaha, you have to laugh at this point. Maybe not if you're an Italian bowler.

Brandon McMullen plays a Pietersen-esque one-legged drive for six, before Oli Hairs heaves away for six more.

The Italians were quite loud in the field at the start, but the cries of 'andiamo' are far fewer now...

Scotland have 18 balls left here - how many can they get to?

The highest ever Scotland total in T20Is is 252 - with these two at the crease, that could go...

Whisper it quietly, but Brandon McMullen is on for a ton too!

Four, six, four to start the 17th over, bowled by Ben Manenti, and McMullen now has 79 from 42 balls.

    Scotland 193-1 v Italy

WOW! I'm running out of superlatives for this.

Oli Hairs has just nailed another HUGE six, this time onto the tennis courts next to The Grange.

He now has 113 from 44 balls - insanely good.

    Scotland 181-1 v Italy

Oli Hairs brings up his first international ton from just 40 balls - a simply breath-taking innings!

It's the joint-seventh fastest ever in T20 internationals, and the fastest ever for Scotland, surpassing George Munsey's ton against Netherlands in 2019.

Shot of the day from Brandon McMullen, and that is saying something!!

A quite incredible reverse-scoop flies away for six, before he hammers another over long-off.

McMullen moves to 64 from 37 balls.

Oli Hairs is on strike for the next over, on 98...

  12. Postpublished at 14 overs

    Scotland 161-1 v Italy

Another good over for Italy - some good fielding on the fence halt the boundaries and keep Scotland to just five.

    Scotland 156-1 v Italy

He's played second fiddle to Oli Hairs, but Brandon McMullen has played quite superbly here.

50 off 32 balls for Scotland's bright young thing.

Blessed relief for Italy, as Harry Manenti's latest over goes for just five runs.

    Boooo!

Oli Hairs is seeing it like a beach ball.

Ben Manenti is swept hard, and it just clears the fielder on the fence, but the next delivery is miles over the rope - that's almost in Inverleith Park!

Another six down the ground finishes the over - Hairs now has 90 from 32 balls!!!

    This is insane hitting.

  16. Postpublished at 11 overs

    Scotland 129-1 v Italy

A wide follows from Crishan Kalugamage, and then Oli Hairs sweeps fine for yet another boundary.

A much-needed dot ends the over, but 20 came from that set, and Scotland are moving towards a massive total.

  17. Postpublished at 10.3 overs

    Scotland 123-1 v Italy

Crishan Kalugamage is brought into the attack, and his leg-spin isn't up to the required mark against two well-set batters.

A drag-down to start is smashed over cow corner for six by Brandon McMullen, before two more short balls are cut and then pulled for four.

14 runs from the first three balls of the over.

  18. Postpublished at 10 overs

    Scotland 109-1 v Italy

Scotland are showing no signs of letting up - they motor past 100 in the 10th over, with both Oli Hairs and Brandon McMullen scoring at will.

Hairs whips to the square leg fence for four more, before McMullen drives dismissively down the ground for another boundary.

    Scotland 97-1 v Italy

Oli Hairs gets down on one knee, and sweeps one past short fine-leg for four.

It brings up his 50 from just 22 balls - it's been a brutal knock so far.

He's not done yet either! A sloppy bit of fielding from Harry Manenti brings four more - he takes his eye off the ball, and it skips through his legs to the fence.

A top-edge clears fine leg for another boundary, before he clears the front leg and belts the final ball of the over past the bowler for four more.

18 from it - lovely stuff.

    Scotland 79-1 v Italy

Brandon McMullen isn't going to let Oli Hairs have all the fun.

Scotland's effervescent number three flicks one down to fine-leg for four, before walking at Harry Manenti and playing a gorgeous lofted cover drive that clears the fence.

Some good running brings two more and relieves any pressure built up in the previous over.
