  1. 6 runs

    Postpublished at 9 overs

    Scotland 98-2 v Ireland

    Absolutely glorious from Scotland's captain.

George Dockrell's first ball is launched over extra cover for six, and the last ball of the over disappears over extra cover for another mighty six, this time from the middle of Brandon McMullen.

  2. Postpublished at 8 overs

    Scotland 83-2 v Ireland

Paul Stirling turns to spin for the first time today, but Ben White's leggies can't stop the flow of runs.

Richie Berrington sweeps hard through square leg for four, and Brandon McMullen then goes down the ground for yet another boundary.

It's a more than productive over for Scotland.

  3. Postpublished at 7 overs

    Scotland 71-2 v Ireland

Richie Berrington looks in glorious touch out there.

He cover drives just over Paul Stirling at cover for four, before late cutting the final ball of the over for four more.

22 off the over - Scotland have recovered well from the early loss of Munsey and Hairs.

  4. 6 runs

    Postpublished at 6.4 overs

    Scotland 63-2 v Ireland

Audible gasps around The Grange, as Brandon McMullen plays a dismissive pull shot high over the leg-side for another massive six, this time off Curtis Campher.

Imagine being that good at sport at 23 years old.

Richie Berrington isn't content to just watch from the other end either - he gets himself on strike and muscles Campher over the sight-screen for six more - that's not far off going into Inverleith Park!

  5. Postpublished at 5 overs

    Scotland 42-2 v Ireland

Some good running see Richie Berrington and Brandon McMullen scamper through for a couple of tight singles to finish the over.

  6. 6 runs

    Postpublished at 4.4 overs

    Scotland 40-2 v Ireland

    Brandon McMullen is some player.

He gives himself room to open up the off-side and plays a gorgeous, lofted cover drive that bounces just inside the rope.

The next ball is absolutely hammered over cow corner for the first six of the day - imperious stuff.

Put down in the crowd though.

  7. Postpublished at 4 overs

    Scotland 29-2 v Ireland

Richie Berrington is the new man for Scotland, and he arrives at the crease with his side in a spot of bother.

He and Brandon McMullen play out the rest of the over with caution.

  8. wicket

WICKET Hairs c Campher b Adair 4published at 3.2 overs

    Scotland 26-2 v Ireland

Both of Scotland's openers are back in the pavilion.

Oli Hairs looks to pull a shortish ball from Mark Adair high over the leg-side, but cannot clear Curtis Campher on the boundary.

Campher was clearly getting pelters while the ball was swirling above him, and he turns to the crowd to give a bit back.

  9. wicket

WICKET Munsey c Tector b McCarthy 20published at 2.3 overs

    Scotland 23-1 v Ireland

One shot too many from George Munsey, who looks to smash Barry McCarthy down the ground, but doesn't time it at all.

It goes miles in the air, but Harry Tector steadies himself under it, and takes the catch at the third time of asking.

Not the safest of grabs, but they all count.

  10. Postpublished at 2.3 overs

    Scotland 23-0 v Ireland

An excellent piece of fielding on the square-leg boundary denies Oli Hairs a boundary from the first ball he faces from Barry McCarthy, but he can't stop the next ball of the over, which George Munsey whips to the long-leg boundary.

  11. Postpublished at 2 overs

    Scotland 18-0 v Ireland

George Munsey smashes another short ball through midwicket for four more, either side of a couple of top edges that land, somewhat fortuitously, in open space.

A productive start for the hosts.

  12. Postpublished at 1.1 overs

    Scotland 7-0 v Ireland

Short and wide to start from Josh Little - George Munsey leans back and creams one through cover point for the game's first boundary.

  13. Postpublished at 1 over

    Scotland 3-0 v Ireland

A watchful start from Scotland's opening pair.

Josh Little, he of IPL fame, will open up from the Pavilion end.

  14. Postpublished at 0.1 overs

    Scotland 1-0 v Ireland

George Munsey gets under way with with a powerful pull down to long-leg.

This pitch looked a bit tired this morning - it'll be interesting to see how it plays here.
