  1. Superchargers 63-0published at 30 balls

This is turning into a brilliant start for Northern Superchargers.

A bruising set from James Fuller begins with a wide before Matthew Short smashes him for three fours and two sixes.

A single next ball off Rehan Ahmed brings up a 21-ball half-century for the Superchargers opener.

  2. Invincibles 27-2published at 35 balls

Four singles from the bowling of Claire Nicholas, as Van Niekerk gets her first run with a sweep.

Expect to see a patient approach from Dane van Niekerk.

In T20 cricket 46.8% of her balls faced are dot balls.

You might then expect her boundary percentage to be high but that's only at 13.75%.

  4. Invincibles 23-2published at 30 balls

In comes Invincibles captain Dane van Niekerk - she can't get any of Elswiss's three remaining deliveries away.

  5. Superchargers 29-0published at 20 balls

Matthew Short is warming up nicely.

He clubs Craig Overton for six with a perfectly lofted straight drive, before finding the long leg boundary for four the next ball.

He then smashes George Garton away for back-to-back boundaries to race to 25 from just 15 deliveries.

  6. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 27 balls

    Capsey c Griffiths b Elwiss 3 (Invincibles 23-2)

A crucial wicket for Welsh Fire - Alice Capsey is gone!

Georgia Elwiss is introduced into the attack and Capsey looks at ease paddling her England team-mate for two.

Elwiss has her revenge the following ball, Capsey takes a big swing and the ball flies to Alex Griffiths at short third.

  7. Invincibles 21-1published at 25 balls

Lauren Winfield-Hill is finding luck so far swiping at balls outside her off stump. She goes at another ball from Freya Davies and the ball skews over Hayley Matthews at slip and runs to the boundary.

Just 21 from the powerplay though - great start for Welsh Fire.

    Alice CapseyImage source, ECB

In 2023 Alice Capsey has been very dominant against spin bowling, striking at 187.59 and averaging 36.71.

Against pace she is scoring at 134.73, averaging just 20.45, and when it comes to high-pace bowling she is going at just 88.88 and averaging 6.00.

Welsh Fire can attack Capsey with Shabnim Ismail’s high pace.

  9. Invincibles 16-1published at 20 balls

England's Alice Capsey is the next batter in and she takes a single through point to get off the mark - the first runs Ismail has conceded.

  10. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 16 balls

    Bates b Ismail 5 (Invincibles 12-1)

Well, we said right-arm pace wasn't a bad option!

Ismail has the New Zealand international - Bates tries to play a paddle and only succeeds in exposing her stumps as she's beaten for pace.

    Fantastic bowling.

  11. How's stat?!published at 14:40 British Summer Time 6 August 2023

    Suzie BatesImage source, ECB

There's no obvious weakness in Suzie Bates' game.

She averages at least 29 against every bowling type.

Her strike-rate is 98.16 against left-arm pace, but Fire don't have any of those.

Right-arm pace isn't a bad option against her, she averages 29 and her strike-rate is 107.68.

  12. Superchargers 8-0published at 10 balls

A slow start with the bat for Superchargers on what looks like a sluggish pitch at the Ageas Bowl.

Just the one boundary from their first 10 balls, a hefty heave through the leg side by Matthew Short

Short has also survived an lbw decision on review from Craig Overton.

  13. Invincibles 12-0published at 15 balls

A sign of intent from Winfield-Hill as she attempts the audacious paddle shot off Freya Davies.

She delivers the following ball, throwing her arms at a wider delivery and sending the ball off to the boundary through point.

  14. Invincibles 7-0published at 10 balls

Pace next up for Fire as they introduce South African superstar Shabnim Ismail. She may have retired from internationals, but she's lost none of her edge - no runs whatsoever from her set.

  15. Invincibles 7-0published at 5 balls

Suzie Bates gets off the mark with the first four of the game, turning Nicholas around the corner and the ball runs away to the ropes.

  16. Invincibles 1-0published at 1 ball

Spinner Claire Nicholas is opening the bowling for Fire.

Lauren Winfield-Hill works her into mid-wicket for the opening run of the match.

Joe Weatherley replaces him in the side to take on Superchargers.
