Match Hero Ryana Macdonald-Gay on BBC Two: "It was great, we had a lot of plans so sticking to them really helped me.

"This is my first Match Hero award and hopefully I can get a few more!

"I came on to bowl at quite a tricky time so I was quite nervous, but the captain and the keeper made my job a lot easier.

"It was scary bowling to Deandra Dottin. She was hitting the ball so hard! But it was a new challenge, and I was happy to take it on today.

"I was just trying to keep it simple and bowl it wider at the end, because it was harder for her to hit from there.

"The other players were advising me but I knew my plans and preparation from before the game."

Oval Invincibles' Alice Capsey on BBC Two: "We made it quite hard for ourselves! It's one of those ugly wins, but it's the win we wanted.

"It's not been a great start, with a washout and a defeat, but we put those things right today.

"There are still a few things we can improve in the field.

"We identified from the last game that the pitch was a bit slow, and we didn't adapt to it then but we made sure to build the partnerships today.

"We wanted to be positive and play to our strengths. I wanted to put pressure on the bowlers but just choosing my best options.

"Ryana has been brilliant. She performed last year, but she just kept the pressure on and actually just kept things quite simple, but it got her the big wickets.

"She'll take a lot of confidence from that today. We know how good she is and to do it on the biggest stage will hopefully help her kick on and she can keep getting a few more wickets for us."

At one stage, Deandra Dottin looked like she was going to cruise home. A couple of wickets at the other end, some crucial catches. I thought Macdonald-Gay in particular was outstanding with the ball, especially against Dottin, she managed to stifle her and then get her wicket.

It's a great recovery. It seemed as if the Originals were going to have that. A fabulous performance.

The defending champions get their first win on the board!

Defending a low total, they bowled and fielded brilliantly to restrict Manchester Originals to 123-9, a collapse from 115-5.

Deandra Dottin's explosive 42 looked like it might see Originals over the line, but Ryana Macdonald-Gay was the standout performer with the ball, taking 4-16.

    Need 7 from 1 ball

    Great effort from Ellie Threlkeld!

She tries to clear the ropes but it lands just in front and goes for four.

Seven needed from one ball, so Invincibles are safe as long as Eva Gray doesn't bowl a wide or a no-ball...

A bit of a futile review, going way down the leg side.

We carry on for the last two balls.

It is more good fielding from the Invincibles. They have been very good at the latter stage. If you are going to win a game, you need those catches to stick.

The Invincibles have fallen from 115-5 to 117-9.

    George c Villiers b Gray 0 (Originals 117-9)

Another down, as Mady Villiers takes a smart catch at cover diving to her right.

Katie George was trying to hit over her head but didn't quite get enough of it.

It has been a fantastic performance with the ball and in the field from the defending champions, who have been back to their best after last week's defeat.

13 from five balls is definitely doable, but do Manchester Originals have the firepower left to get there?

Ellie Threlkeld and Katie George are the new batters.

    Bryce c Scholfield b Macdonald-Gay 0 (Originals 116-8)

Invincibles close in on victory as Kathryn Bryce falls first ball, pulling the ball straight into the hands of Paige Scholfield at mid-wicket.

Ryana Macdonald-Gay finishes her spell with a brilliant 4-16 from her 20 balls.

    Well bowled, Reece Topley.

Rockets captain Lewis Gregory can only manage a single from the final ball and the Superchargers have held on for their comeback victory.

    Dottin c Van Niekerk b Macdonald-Gay 42 (Originals 115-7)

Is that the game? Most likely.

Deandra Dottin goes for another big shot, but can only get an edge as Macdonald-Gay continues to bowl wide of her off stump.

Captain Dane van Niekerk takes the catch at short third and Invincibles are delighted.

Dottin was probably the only Originals batter left who could have got them over the line.

  20. Superchargers-Rockets goes down to final ballpublished at 17:37 British Summer Time 9 August 2023

A perfect yorker from Reece Topley!

Trent Rockets need five to win from the final ball. Four runs for a tie...
