So India are the series winners, then, after what in the end was a fairly comfortable Twenty20 victory over Ireland in Malahide.

Niall O'Brien called it right in saying that Ireland had their moments - most notably when Andrew Balbirnie was finding the boundary - but it rarely felt like they would cause the upset they were striving for.

The two sides will be back at the same venue on Wednesday for the third and final match of the series.

India have a highly-skilled bowling attack. I'm disappointed in the end. India got away from us at the back end of the first innings. We lost wickets early and that made it so hard for us. We look forward to the game on Wednesday and I feel we can beat India. We ran them close last year and that shows us how close we can get to them. We look forward to the final game on Wednesday.

India were superb in closing out the game. It was a clinical performance by the men in blue. All in all, it's been an excellent performance by India. Ireland have been struggling up front in the powerplay and today was another example of that. Ireland had their moments but the class of India showed. The positives for Ireland include the Andrew Balbirnie masterclass with the bat.

It was always going to be a tough ask for Ireland after India set them a total of 185-5 thanks to a strong finish to their innings.

Andrew Balbirnie carried the fight for the hosts but when he was out for 72, the Ireland challenge faded.

India win the series, then, but there is still that final game for the supporters to look forward to.

It's all over at Malahide and a clinical performance from India sees them secure a comfortable win over Ireland by 33 runs.

Mark Adair has done his best to pick up the baton since Andrew Balbirnie's departure - and my goodness has he picked it up.

He hit back-to-back sixes and his tally going into the final over is an impressive 23 runs from 11 balls.

Going to be too little, too late though.

Ireland look like their fight may have been fought as any hopes they had of levelling the series are fading fast.

Just four runs and a wicket conceded as well for Ireland in that 17th over.

Ireland need to keep hitting! Andrew Balbirnie has showed real innovation in his shot making. Balbirnie has grown into his innings and he's worked incredibly hard to secure his 50. Ireland need twos, fours and sixes at this stage. It's time for boundaries now as much as possible! George Dockrell being run out is a bitter blow.

Andrew Balbirnie is lucky to survive as India vice-captain Ruturaj Gaikwad drops what probably should have been a routine catch close to the boundary.

The Malahide crowd continue to keep the party atmosphere going.

Andrew Balbirnie's fine performance continue as he brings his score up to 50 from 39 balls.

Not an over to remember for Ireland as they register just four runs.

They really are running out of time to record the runs they will need if they are to pull off a shock by reaching their target of 186.

Andrew Balbirnie really is carrying the fight to India here as he catches one on the sweet spot to send it for another six.

And swiftly follows it up with another - and a crowd catch as a bonus - to give Ireland 14 runs from the over.

That's 43 so far for the former Irish captain.
