  1. Eng 4-0published at 1 over

    A tidy start from Southee.

Bairstow slashes a couple out to deep cover and the bowler responds well with a yorker that Bairstow just digs out.

There's not too much movement, so looks like it'll be a good pitch to bat on once the batters get themselves in.

  2. Eng 1-0published at 0.1 overs

A comfortable dab into the leg side brings Bairstow a single, and England are off the mark first ball.

    Here we go, then.

Jonny Bairstow gets ready to face the first ball, with Will Jacks at the other end.

The experienced skipper Tim Southee has the ball in hand.

England white-ball coach Matthew Mott tells Sky Sports that he has been "very impressed" with Harry Brook's response with the bat since he was not named in the provisional World Cup squad.

He also adds - as we keep hearing - that there is still plenty of time before the team leaves for India and that things could still change.

Can Brook use tonight to add another remarkable innings to his 2023 highlights reel?

England were completely dominant in the first two games, before New Zealand fought back in style at Edgbaston.

It's perfectly set up at 2-1 with one to play...

The boundary is so short over to one side that I reckon Jonathan Edwards could get there in a hop, skip and a jump.

New Zealand captain Tim Southee: "More of the same tonight. What we saw on Sunday was the kind of performance that we've come to expect from our side and we're always looking to improve.

"Our spinners have been quality for us for a long time. They work brilliantly together and it's very nice to have.

"It's massive to have Kane Williamson back around the group, not only as a player but as a leader and a person, and any side with him in it is a better side."

England captain Moeen Ali: "It is a good wicket and hopefully we can get a big score.

"It is nice to lead england. It is a massive honour and I love it. Jos [Buttler] is just having a rest today."

On Rehan Ahmed: "He has a really good attitude and it looks like he is improving all the time, even in practice. It is great that he's getting an opportunity alongside [Adil] Rashid tonight, who he models himself on. It is nice to have five spinners today, it doesn't mean you're going to use them all but good to have those options."
