  1. Post update

Time for us to leave in there for the night.

I'll leave you with Matt Henry's report from Trent Bridge as England are beaten as New Zealand fight back to draw T20 series.

There's some of the best moments below, while there are hour-long highlights on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer from 23:15 BST.

The men's ODI series against New Zealand starts on Friday. We'll have live text, radio commentary and video clips from that one.

The women's T20 series against Sri Lanka has a decider on Wednesday. That's live on BBC Two as well as radio, text and clips!

    See you then.

  2. 'Players will have wanted to do more'

    James Anderson

England bowler on BBC Test Match Special

You want to be tested in the build-up for a World Cup and you want your players peaking at the right time.

There is plenty of time before that competition starts.

But there are definitely a few players in that dressing room who would have wanted to do a bit more. They will have opportunities to put that right in the 50-over series.

With the series at 2-2 though, can we please have an odd-number of games so we can get a result?! As a player, that's what you want because it puts a bit more pressure on you and it's where younger players learn to play in crunch conditions and replicate a final as much as you can.

  3. 'I've been trying to get back into rhythm'

Player of the summer in T20s, Jonny Bairstow: "I'll be fine. It's just a precautionary thing [to not keep wicket after suffering shoulder pain while batting], with all the cricket we've got coming up there was no point taking the risk.

"It's been a while since I've played a lot of white-ball cricket so I've been getting back into the rhythms of it. I don't think I've been timing the ball my best, but I backed myself to catch up.

"I'm delighted to contribute in this way tonight.

"But at the same time, we wanted to win the series.

"My ankle is pretty good. We've not had many setbacks and that has surprised me. Touch wood it continues to be OK for as long as it can!"

  4. 'Ahmed a positive for England'

England captain Moeen Ali: "They bowled really well but we just lost some momentum after the powerplay so that was disappointing.

"We couldn't catch up. We got a reasonable score but it wasn't enough because it was a good surface.

"They had a brilliant start with the bat too and then we couldn't wrestle it back.

"I am really disappointed that we lost these last two games. Rehan bowled really well tonight and that was a big positive for us."

  5. 'Atkinson can be a real threat'

    James Anderson

England bowler on BBC Test Match Special

I really liked watching Gus Atkinson bowl. He has got that X-factor that makes you want to buy a ticket and watch.

What we saw from his debut is that he has got the skills to match his pace. He can mix it up subtly and bowl his variations well.

He has got the package to be a real threat for England.

  6. 'Malan might be feeling pressure, but it needs putting to bed'

    Stephen Fleming

Former New Zealand captain on BBC Test Match Special

At some point, you have to put the issue to bed. It just puts pressure on the guys who are there.

Dawid Malan might feel it, that it's his spot people are talking about, and it makes those batters feel uncomfortable and looking over the shoulder when really, they have been chosen to score runs for England.

They need to feel settled and having that conversation doesn't allow them to be at their best.

The more it lingers on, the more it will start to affect those players. The messaging has got to be clear.

  7. 'The door may open for Brook with an injury'

    James Anderson

England bowler on BBC Test Match Special

It is so difficult. If the World Cup comes around and one of the chosen batters doesn't get runs, everyone will be saying "Where's Harry Brook?"

But at the end of the day, you can only pick a certain amount of players and someone has got to be left out, and this is the direction they've gone at the moment.

You have got to respect that because over the last four to five years, they have got it right. England have won two World Cups so you have to trust that judgement.

There might be a door that opens with an injury, it's a long tournament, but you never know.

  8. Post update

    Trophy

Moeen Ali and Tim Southee half-heartedly hold up the T20 series trophy.

Their attention has probably already switched to the ODI series and the build-up to the World Cup.

James Anderson and Stephen Fleming have been discussing Harry Brook v Dawid Malan and other aspects of England's squad.

    Quotes to follow shortly.

  9. 'Performances closer to what this side is about'

New Zealand captain Tim Southee: "We were far from our best in the first two games and the last two have been closer to what this side is about.

"We were off in the first two games but we've just adapted and bounced back and that is very pleasing.

"They got off to a great start tonight but we knew that if we kept taking wickets it was the best way to slow them down. We were trying to be smart and make them take aggressive options.

"We'll travel, rest and there will be some fresh faces ahead of the ODI series. It is an exciting time."

  10. Post update

    Stephen Fleming

Former New Zealand captain on BBC Test Match Special

It was hard to see this series result coming.

We were screaming out at Edgbaston for New Zealand to provide some resistance because the series was crying out for it.

Now, both teams have experienced heavy defeats and there will be no complacency. Both bowling and batting units have been properly tested and the game plans have been challenged.

It's a different format from the World Cup but both teams have definitely got what they needed out of this series.

  11. 'We hung in there'

Player of the match, New Zealand's Mitchell Santner: "It is never easy with the short side. Credit to the lads, we can out hard with the ball. We hung on in there and took poles through the middle, which is pretty key.

"Jonny [Bairstow] is tough when he gets going but we knew the powerplay would be the best time to bat so it was about squeezing and then taking poles through the middle.

"Much won't change in the ODI series because they'll play the same brand of cricket."

  12. Post update

There are highlights on this game on BBC Two and iPlayer from 23:15 BST.

    Tune in.

  14. Post update

The four-match one-day international series between the sides starts in Cardiff on Friday.

Matches follow on 10, 13 and 15 September before England face Ireland.

It is exactly a month today until England's World Cup campaign and defence starts in India against New Zealand.

  15. Post update

    James Anderson

England bowler on BBC Test Match Special

England can start afresh in the 50-over format in a few days' time and that's the format that the World Cup is in, so they can look at the positives.

Jonny Bairstow found some form at a good time and Rehan Ahmed gave a really good account of himself tonight.

  16. Post update

Mark Chapman finishes 40 not out off 25 balls, with Rachin Ravindra making an unbeaten 17 off nine balls.

Tim Seifert made 48 and Glenn Phillips 42 as New Zealand reached their target of 176 with ease in the end.

England, ultimately, were short with the bat.

  17. Post update

    Henry Moeran

    BBC Test Match Special commentator

England looked so far ahead of New Zealand but all credit to the visitors.

They were ruthless at Edgbaston and clinical tonight.

  18. BreakingNew Zealand win by six wickets to draw series 2-2

The Kiwis comprehensively take the fourth T20. Tim Southee's side win with 16 balls to spare.

It's been a superb comeback from 2-0 down in the series.

  19. Post update

    Henry Moeran

    BBC Test Match Special commentator

Mark Chapman has struck the ball beautifully.

  20. NZ 175-4

    My days.

Mark Chapman absolutely pulverises a pull shot to bring the scores level.

The noise the ball made off the bat there was terrific.
