England got the last third of their innings wrong and New Zealand have learned from that.

They have hit the occasional big shot but what they've done well is tick the score over, and hit the gaps hard.

England kept going for the big shots and when it didn't come off, there were some dry patches.

  3. NZ 162-4published at 16 overs

    Need 14 from 24 balls

Adil Rashid finishes with 0-41 from his four overs.

    Not the leggie's day.

  4. 6 runs

    NZ 160-4published at 15.3 overs

    Need 16 off 27 balls

Mark Chapman has just taken control of the game since Glenn Phillips was dismissed.

He picks up four through the off side before flicking over the square-leg fence for six.

    He's up to 35 off 21 balls.

That shorter boundary is a bowler's nightmare.

Sam Curran is doing his best to try and protect it.

  6. NZ 150-4published at 15 overs

    Need 26 from 30 balls

Stand-in skipper Moeen Ali opts to return with the ball, and he's muscled to the boundary by Mark Chapman.

It's superb placement and timing from Chapman, bisecting two fielders perfectly.

I suspect England need six more wickets to win this.

Glenn Phillips was trying to execute this shot again but didn't time it on this occasion.

Really well bowled by Rehan Ahmed. He just bowled it a fraction shorter and forced Phillips to play off the back foot.

If England have a way back in, that's the wicket that'll get them there.

Is that the breakthrough that sparks hope for England?

  10. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 14 overs

    Phillips c Curran b Ahmed 42 (NZ 141-4)

    Is there a twist?

Glenn Phillips again looks to muscle over mid-wicket but it comes off the top of the bat and Sam Curran is able to take a relatively simple catch.

Rehan Ahmed finishes with 2-27 from his four overs.

  11. NZ 141-3published at 13.5 overs

    Need 35 from 37 balls

New Zealand are closing on a series-levelling win. They've got the run-rate below a run-a-ball now.

Glenn Phillips picks up another boundary with a cut. He's picking the gaps superbly.

Glenn Phillips has been utterly superb.

    Now that is unlucky.

It'll feel good for Mark Chapman but Brydon Carse bowled well in that over.

  14. NZ 131-3published at 13 overs

    Need 45 from 42 balls

Mark Chapman picks up a boundary with a thick edge past short third.

Brydon Carse's over was a good one, but he has still gone for 16. T20 cricket is brutal.

Glenn Phillips is even mis-timing them for six! That's a top edge that has gone some distance.

  16. 6 runs

    NZ 126-3published at 12.4 overs

    Need 50 off 44 balls

    Six more.

Brydon Carse hurries Glenn Phillips and draws an "ohhh no" from the Kiwi batter but the top-edge flies down and over the fine-leg boundary.

On a good surface, you are backing the batting side nine times out of 10 in this situation.

But you get Glenn Phillips out here and it shifts completely.

Moeen Ali still seems to be doing most of the captaining despite Jos Buttler now being on the field.

  19. NZ 115-3published at 12 overs

    Need 61 from 48 balls

Two singles follow the six. Good cricket.

A reminder that a New Zealand win tonight would see them draw the four-match T20 series 2-2. That would be a good comeback from 2-0 down.

  20. 6 runs

    NZ 113-3published at 11.4 overs

    Need 63 off 50 balls

    Glenn Phillips again.

He's demonstrating all his power again tonight as he rocks back and pulls Adil Rashid over mid-wicket for six more.
