  1. SA 165-2published at 30 overs

    De Kock 90, Markram 59

Quinton de Kock finds the boundary again as Mustafizur Rahman drops short and the left-hander just helps it to the square-leg boundary.

There's a brief appeal for lbw against the opener too but it was sliding down the leg side and Shakib doesn't even entertain the thought of a review.

Floated up, Markram swung the bat. It was in the air but it went past the fielder at the rate of knots.

  3. SA 157-2published at 29 overs

Shakib Al Hasan is struggling to offer the control and tight economy rate that he normally does.

Quinton de Kock reverse sweeps for four, before Aiden Markram drills through the covers.

South Africa are starting to find the boundary with more regularity.

Aiden Markram looks very good too, Finny.

Quinton de Kock is looking very good. He hasn't offered up any chances so far and already has two hundreds in this World Cup.

He looks dead set on making this start count as well.

  6. SA 148-2published at 28 overs

    De Kock 78, Markram 54

A change of pace for Bangladesh as left-arm seamer Mustafizur Rahman comes back on.

South Africa seem happy to take a look for now with four singles and a wide from the over.

They will be eyeing 300-plus again.

Lovely delivery. The first one that has gripped and turned - and at pace from Shakib Al Hasan.

  8. SA 143-2published at 27 overs

Oh. Encouragement for Shakib Al Hasan and Bangladesh.

He finds a little bit of grip and bounce to get one to rise on Aiden Markram.

The stand-in Proteas skipper is able to drop his hands and bat though.

    Beautiful extra cover drive.

  10. 50 runs

50 for Aiden Markrampublished at 26 overs

    SA 141-2

Another change for Bangladesh as Mehidy Hasan returns for his eighth over.

He's greeted by a gorgeous cover drive from Aiden Markram which races past mid-off and away to the fence.

The over ends with another four as Markram guides through point to bring up his half-century.

The century partnership came up earlier in the over too. Ominous for Bangladesh.

    This shot? Superb.

Quinton de Kock is a serious player.

  12. SA 131-2published at 25 overs

Shakib Al Hasan knows his side need a wicket because this partnership is now extremely dangerous and is laying a significant platform for Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller and Marco Jansen.

No breakthrough for Bangladesh in this over though, with five runs off the set.

Even when the ball is bowled slower, the spin does seem to be skidding on and not really gripping.

The danger for Bangladesh is that if they let these next 10 overs drift, it turns into a slog-a-thon later in the innings.

Markram waited on it and slapped it away for four.

  15. SA 126-2published at 24 overs

    There's a bad ball.

Mahmudullah offers Aiden Markram some length and a smidgen of width and it gets crushed away to the cover boundary.

A good over for South Africa, 10 from it.

South Africa appear to be content, for now at least, to take the ones and twos, and wait for the loose balls.

  17. SA 116-2published at 23 overs

A good over from Nasum Ahmed, conceding just three singles.

Quinton de Kock throws back his head in disappointment to end the over as he misses out on a leg-stump half-volley by picking out short fine leg.

That probably should have been punished.

De Kock is in such good nick. He's enjoying himself and everything is coming out of the middle of the bat.

    Absolutely marvellous stroke.

  20. 6 runs

    SA 113-2published at 22 overs

    My days. Shot.

Quinton de Kock premeditates a reverse sweep/slap and absolutely pulverises it over the rope for six.

There was little risk in the shot with both short third and point up in the ring so he knew if he got enough contact on it he was picking up a boundary.
