He has smashed that about 15 rows back into the stands. Great shot.
It has been a great knock from Mahmudullah. He hasn't been supported which means he hasn't always been able to take the most positive option.
Lovely shot.
Mahmudullah plays a sensational drive over the covers for six. It is an incredibly hard shot to play, but he's smashed it.
He takes a single to keep the strike and move to 97.

It is fair to say this stage of the game is drifting, though Mahmudullah is on the verge of a personal milestone. He is the one batter to show some defiance this innings.
Kagiso Rabada returns and concedes just a single from the over.
Mahmudullah is on 89 off 97 balls.
He should have been out on 74 though.
Don't rule it out, Francis.
The multi-format structure of the Women's Ashes is superb.

The ODI format of cricket and this World Cup in general are both feeling very tired. How about a multi-format World Cup across T20s, ODIs and tests, with progressively longer formats through the knockout rounds to theoretically encourage early 'upsets'?

Mustafizur Rahman is unable to capitalise on the free-hit as Gerald Coetzee bowls a well-directed bouncer.
Bangladesh have at least 200. That means another 10 kits have been delivered.
Ugh.
Mahmudullah is caught on the square-leg boundary but it is a no-ball for above waist height.
Mistakes are creeping in for South Africa now.

Mahmudullah will be focusing his mind now. He is 15 away from a hundred.

To Adrian at 1609 I wouldn’t term them ‘Nothing to play’ matches although I agree to change this one big stretch to groups of 3 or 4 even. Top 2 to Super eights/six and the eventual SF. Had this WC been that way, Uprise of NL and Afg could knock out big teams

How much of a concern is this for South Africa?
They had Bangladesh 81-6 but are struggling to close the game out.
We saw similar in their shock defeat by the Netherlands and against England.
Six more.
Short from Lizaad Williams and Mahmudullah pulls over the ropes.
He's battled well.

Marco Jansen applauds Lizaad Williams for the effort. That's very sporting.
I know a lot of bowlers who wouldn't do that if a team-mate dropped a catch to deny them a wicket.
Bangladesh need 199 fom the last 10 overs.
Good luck.
Ban 183-8
Oh dear.
A wide yorker from Marco Jansen and Mahmudullah slaps it up in the air.
Lizaad Williams to back pedal a bit but gets both hands on the catch. It drops out though.
He'll be disappointed with that because he is facing forward.
Here's how Kagiso Rabada picked up the wicket of Hasan Mahmud.

Mustafizur knew the short ball was coming, but that shot could have gone anywhere.
Four more.
Mustafizur Rahman has a swipe and the ball slices off the top-edge and runs away for four.
Someone in the South Africa changing room is rubbing their face. They are making hard work of this.

Maybe Mahmudullah has decided that he has to try and take a few bowlers down with him. Otherwise it is far too comfortable for South Africa out there.
