All times stated are UK

  1. SA 222-5

    Need 23 from 24 balls

    Where has that come from?!

Andile Phehlukwayo was all over the place but from nowhere, clubs Naveen-ul-Haq down the ground for six! That'll do nicely.

  2. SA 212-5

Need 33 runs from 30 balls

    Andile Phehlukwayo survives it!

Rashid Khan finishes with 2-37, another brilliant spell, but now Afghanistan are really running out of options.

  3. SA 210-5

Here we go. Rashid Khan's last over.

Rassie van der Dussen takes a single first ball, trusting Phehlukwayo enough.

Afghanistan have dropped 11 catches in this tournament, 12 if you count that one. They dropped several against New Zealand, we know they dropped Glenn Maxwell against Australia. It's an area of their game they can look to improve and that could put them in contention for a semi-final spot.

A few what ifs, a few missed opportunities on their side, but a campaign they can look back on with great pride.

It just cleared the fielder. Always running back trying to take over your shoulder. Phehlukwayo gets away with a couple of runs.

  6. SA 209-5

    Target 245

The return to pace almost pays off!

Andile Phehlukwayo tries to ease the pressure with a big heave against Naveen, but completely miscues it up in the air.

The skipper Hashmatullah almost gets there, running backwards from cover, but the ball just evading his fingertips as he puts in a full-stretch dive.

    Phehlukwayo gets away with another.

  7. SA 203-5

    Target 245

Mujeeb ur Rahman is now also bowled out, finishing with 1-51.

Noor Ahmad has two left, and Rashid Khan has one. It's a big test for Afghanistan captain Hashmatullah Shahidi in terms of how and when he uses them.

He'll have to go back to pace eventually, and South Africa might prefer that.

Nabi has been phenomenal in this World Cup, especially with the ball. He's won against 43 sides - he's hoping it 44 today, Afghanistan have never beaten South Africa in ODI cricket, having only faced them once before.

2027 may be a little too far for him, but we'll see him in T20s and he may end up involved in the coaching side.

  9. SA 198-5

    Target 245

Afghanistan's spinners are really testing South Africa here. They tick five off the over quite comfortably, but again Phehlukwayo gets away with one as he chips one safely in the air.

South Africa need one big over to get well ahead of the rate, and settle some nerves.

Mohammad Nabi finishes a fabulous spell of 2-35.

I don't think Rassie van der Dussen should be taking a single from the first ball and leaving Andile Phehlukwayo with five balls to face. He should probably be taking more of the strike.

The chat out in the middle was about whether it was missing leg, and based on the replay it definitely was.

  12. SA 193-5

    Target 245

Successive lbw appeals against Andile Phehlukwayo.

Both are turned down, and not reviewed, but he doesn't look very comfortable out there. A tough situation for him in his first outing of the tournament.

Just the one from the over and the pressure builds.

  13. Post update

David Miller must be absolutely kicking himself after this.

No matter what happens, watching South Africa batting, teams will be thinking "as long we bat first..."

Even the runs they are taking there's a lot of hesitance, a lot of yes-no.

Extraordinary luck from Phehlukwayo, edging onto his pads and past the leg stump. No wonder Nabi threw he hands in the air.

  16. SA 192-5

    Target 245

    Oh, so nearly another.

Andile Phehlukwayo gets an edge past the stumps and that is agonisingly close. They only take a single and that's another fantastic over from Nabi, just the two from it.

Into the last 10 we go...

  17. SA 190-5

    Target 245

Shot. Rassie van der Dussen gets down on one knee and sweeps Noor Ahmad off middle stump for four valuable runs.

  18. Post update

If Rassie van der Dussen can stay there, South Africa should be comfortable. Another wicket makes it very interesting indeed...

  19. SA 184-5

Brilliant from the veteran Mohammad Nabi. Just two runs and the wicket from the over.

61 runs required from 12 overs. Easy, right?

They're certainly making hard work of this. This is a good test for South Africa, I'm going to look at it that way. Andile Phehlukwayo is coming in, he hasn't batted, it's his first match of the tournament. He's more of a bowling all-rounder and certainly doesn't have the long levers of Marco Jansen.
