Also, India have no reviews left but Rohit Sharma just told the umpires to look at it. So they did.

No, it dropped short of Rohit.

    On we go.

Has Joe Root edged to slip?

Well, he has - but has it carried? Rohit Sharma isn't sure.

2017 also feels like a long time ago, doesn't it? The year of my graduation. Sigh.

This is the first time England have added 100 or more for the eighth wicket since Moeen and Woakes against West Indies at Headingley in 2017.

Mohammed Siraj tests Joe Root with a short ball.

Joe Root pulls it for four.

    Try again.

Jadeja whizzes through an over like it's a formality. India are just going through the motions and hoping the pitch will do the work for them.

    Plot twist - it won't.

India are flat. Lots of hands on hips or behind the the back. They have a new ball less than 10 overs old and are bowling to England's number nine with a sweeper on each side.

  10. Eng 340-7published at 98 overs

Very sedate start from India. They don't seem up for it at all, as England tick the singles around with complete ease.

You definitely wouldn't know that they're the team leading this series.

Ollie Robinson has a first-class century. He got one on his FC debut and hasn't managed it again since. Could he?

Sharp turn for Jadeja. There's still enough in the pitch for England to get excited about.

Ollie Robinson is the first England number nine to score a half-century since Chris Woakes against India at The Oval in September 2021.

  14. Eng 335-7published at 96 overs

Ollie Robinson has batted really nicely here but he also referred to the new ball as a 'newie' in his pre-match interview this morning so he's got to score a few more to make up for that, I reckon.

Lovely! Ollie Robinson is playing a gem of a knock here.

He slog-sweeps Ravindra Jadeja for four to bring up his first Test half-century.

Barely seen a shot from Joe Root this morning.

Last night I had a very enthusiastic waiter in my hotel getting quite excited about the prospect of the Manchester United game later today. That was just before Alice Capsey's evening went from being quite good to not ideal.

It's a fresh morning in Ranchi. The conditions in this match have been the coolest in the series so far. There's even a little bit of rain forecast.

The stadium is quite quiet so far. Expect it to fill up if India bat well later today.

    Here we go!

Ollie Robinson helps himself to three boundaries in the over and I think that signals England's intent after a watchful few overs.

He whacks a short ball from Akash Deep through point, drills one through mid-off before a slog over mid-wicket concludes a profitable over.

A cautious start from Robinson and Root as they wait and see if there are any early demons in the pitch.

There isn't anything as drastic as yesterday morning, but Siraj helps England out by firing one way over Joe Root's head for four byes.
