  1. Post update

    Warwks v Worcs 292-6

Waite picks up three fours off the bowling of Chris Rushworth, with one straight drive and two back foot cuts through cover.

15 runs off the over in all, which also included two leg byes and a single.

  2. Post update

    Middlesex v Glamorgan 367-3

A combination of some tight bowling with the newish ball from Middlesex and playing for tomorrow and Sam Northeast has probably put thoughts of a double ton to one side.

Two overs left and he needs 14 to reach 200.

  3. Bad light stops play at Hove

    Sussex v Northants 95-2

    Just a single from Lamb's 10th over.

Seales continues from the Cromwell Road End and Nair defends into the off side.

The umpires are conferring... and we're off.

That's not definitely stumps but it's highly likely.

    Those clouds look pretty set.

  4. WICKET: Snater b James 12

    Notts v Essex 239-9

    There goes another one!

Shane Snater takes a swing at Lyndon James and drags the ball onto his off stump.

Just one more for Nottinghamshire to get...

  5. Post update

    Warwks v Worcs 277-6

Waite picks up a single off OHD, nudging a leg side ball square for a single.

Holder is down the ground to defend.

    Maiden over.

  6. WICKET: Cox b Harrison 84

    Notts v Essex 239-8

    Big wicket for Nottinghamshire!

There'll be no debut century for Jordan Cox, who perishes to a great piece of bowling by Calvin Harrison.

The leg-spinner gets a ball to pitch on leg and turn to hit middle and off - and we're well and truly into the Essex tail now, with Sam Cook coming to the crease.

  7. WICKET: L Hill c Lyth b G Hill 5

    Yorks v Leics 115-4

Harry Brook (L) and George Hill of Yorkshire

George Hill is turning this very much in Yorkshire's favour - he's just picked up his third wicket.

Namesake Lewis Hill edges to first slip and Adam Lyth does the honours this time.

That brings Rehan Ahmed to the middle, with Leicestershire losing three wickets for 26 - all to George Hill.

  8. Post update

    Sussex v Northants 94-2

The light is fading somewhat at Hove as Seales is frustrated by a flashing Nair drive that sends the ball through point off a thick outside edge for four.

The umpires have had a look at the light meters. We're still on for now.

  9. 'Pears sliding a little'

    Warwks v Worcs 271-6

    Phil Britt

    BBC Coventry & Warwickshire

Suddenly Worcestershire are sliding a little.

Chris Rushworth has a wicket, he should have had Brett D'Oliveira in the previous over but he's made up for it.

Low tumbling catch by the wicketkeeper and Warwickshire pick up a second bowling point.

  10. Post update

    Sussex v Northants 87-2

Nair has taken 20 balls to get off the mark, but looks comfortable at the crease now as he flicks Seales through mid wicket for his first four.

Procter picks up two more runs off Lamb at the other end.

  11. Post update

    Middlesex v Glamorgan 356-3

South Africa batter Colin Ingram pulls a shortish ball from Toby Roland-Jones along the ground to the midwicket boundary.

Ingram is on 20, with all of those runs in boundaries.

At the other end, Sam Northeast is on 184, with six overs left tonight.

  12. WICKET: Harris c Brook b Hill 56

    Yorks v Leics 110-3

    Second wicket for George Hill!

The Yorkshire seamer's bowled well this afternoon and he goes over the wicket to Marcus Harris, moving the ball across him to find the edge and Harry Brook pouches the catch at first slip.

The home side have their first bonus point of the season and Peter Handscomb is the new man in for Leicestershire.

  13. WICKET D'Oliveira c Burgess b Rushworth 19

    Warwks v Worcs 271-6

Full, straight and a hint of away movement off the seam as the ball brushes the edge of Brett D'Oliveira's bat and wicketkeeper Michael Burgess takes the ball, tumbling to his right.

Warwickshire are are bossing this session of play and the Pears have lost their last four wickets for 36.

Matthew Waite will try to stop the slide with Jason Holder.

  14. for Marcus Harris

    Yorks v Leics 105-2

    Marcus Harris (Leics)

That's a half-century for Marcus Harris, who was Mr Reliable at the top of the order during his previous spell at Leicestershire and is anchoring their innings again.

The Australian glides a boundary through the leg side off Ben Coad to bring up his half-century from 93 deliveries.

  15. WICKET Ali c Barnard b Hannon-Dalby 110

    Warwks v Worcs 271-5

No let off this time. Brilliant catch!

Kashif Ali is caught in the crease, chipping a bumper to Ed Barnard, who grabs a tough chance with one hand in the covers.

    Champagne moment. Stunning effort.

A superb maiden first class century from Ali is over.

Former Windies captain Jason Holder will begin his first innings for the Pears.

  16. 350 up for Glamorgan

    Middlesex v Glamorgan 350-3

Sam Northeast pushes one out into the offside and runs through for a single.

That brings up the side's 350 and a third batting point for Glamorgan.

Northeast has 182 and just over eight overs to try to reach a remarkable opening day double ton.

  17. WICKET: Harmer lbw b James 8

    Notts v Essex 217-7

Now Lyndon James gets in on the act and picks up a deserved wicket!

The Nottinghamshire all-rounder has bowled consistently today and finally gets his reward as he pins Simon Harmer leg before.

That's five Essex wickets they've captured for 47 runs and surely the aim must be to bowl them out tonight.

  18. Post update

    Warwks v Worcs 271-4

A bit of width from OHD and Kashif Ali is able to leave.

Chris Rushworth will share the new ball.

D'Oliveira picks up two with a leg glance and one more tapped through gully. Single to Kashif Ali.

The sixth ball of the over bounces, seams away and is fenced by D'Oliveira just short of Bethell at second slip, as the ball is steered just to his right at shoulder height. Close.

  19. Post update

    Notts v Essex 212-6

Jordan Cox must have had his eye on a century well before stumps, but that ambition's probably now on the back burner as preserving his wicket takes priority.

Cox has crawled into the 70s with a cut shot for two off Lyndon James and two an over has been exactly the Essex scoring rate since they lost their sixth wicket.

Simon Harmer, who's on seven from 33 balls, has helped to staunch the bleeding for now, but Notts would love to make further inroads in the time remaining today - which could be as much as 21 overs.

  20. Post update

    Sussex v Northants 74-2

Tidy over from Ollie Robinson, costing just one run in the form of a leg bye.

Lamb drifts one leg side - and that's four leg byes off the pad of Nair, still looking for his first run off the bat.
