Live Reporting

Adam Lanigan, Ben Kosky, Ben Pheazey and Deepak Mahay

All times stated are UK

  1. 'A really good catch from Bean'

    Yorkshire v Leicestershire 89-2

    Jonathan Doidge

    BBC Radio Leeds cricket commentator

Finlay Bean, who has been good in his short time in first-class cricket so far in the slip cordon, and he's just underlined that in red with a really good catch.

  2. New ball taken at Edgbaston

    Warwks v Worcs 264-4

Ed Barnard drops short and a full-blooded pull from Kashif Ali is stopped by Danny Briggs at deep backward square leg.

Danny Briggs is legside and turned round the corner by Ali for four more to move to 109.

That's 80 bowled and OHD will take the second new ball.

  3. 'Tremendous innings from Kashif Ali'

    Warwks v Worcs 260-4

    Richard Wilford

    BBC Coventry & Warwickshire

We've seen Kashif Ali reach his first, first-class century in the grandest of fashions, hopping down the wicket and nailing Danny Briggs for a straight six.

It was beautifully hit - he did have a life on 34 when he was put down by Rob Yates at slip - but it's been a tremendous innings from Kashif Ali.

  4. Post update

    Sussex v Northants 68-2

Seales has been the pick of the Sussex bowlers today and he has Procter in defence mode, leaving the ball outside off stump.

The Northants captain is right behind the line of a straighter fourth ball, blocking into the off side.

The fifth ball is driven through extra cover for one after a superb half stop from Carter.

  5. WICKET: Kimber c Bean b Hill 24

    Yorks v Leics 89-2

Second wicket for Yorkshire - and a first of the season for George Hill.

Credit to Finley Bean there, who dived to his left to take a low catch at second slip and remove Louis Kimber.

It's another Hill - Foxes skipper Lewis - who strides out to replace Kimber with more than 20 overs remaining tonight.

  6. Post update

    Yorks v Leics 83-1

Not a great deal going on at Headingley, where the Leicestershire batters are taking a drinks break.

Marcus Harris is on 38 and Louis Kimber 19, with Jordan Thompson and George Hill sending down a sequence of maidens between them.

There are 22 overs still scheduled for today, although the shadows are lengthening already so that might be a tad optimistic.

  7. 'Things happening for Bears'

    Warwks v Worcs 246-4

    Melinda Farrell

Sports broadcaster/journalist on BBC Coventry & Warwickshire

All of a sudden things are happening for Warwickshire after a pretty difficult day.

  8. 100 for Kashif Ali

    Warwks v Worcs 246-4

    Worcestershire batter Kashif Ali

What a way to get there! He's down the track to Danny Briggs, lofting the spinner down the ground for six.

His century comes off 171 balls with 10 fours and two sixes.

It's his first hundred in first-class cricket.

In the next over, D'Oliveira tucks a full toss from Barnard behind square leg for four to bring up the Worcester 250 in the 77th over.

  9. Post update

    Sussex v Northants 66-2

Northants fans may remember that Karun Nair stroked a superb century vs Surrey last season.

He tries to drive Seales without getting to the pitch and the ball squirts into the on side via the inside edge.

He leaves outside off to see out the over.

  10. 'Sussex delighted to break partnership'

    Sussex v Northants 66-2

    Matt Green

    on BBC Radio Sussex

Really bowled well there by Jayden Seales.

He came in, the ball just looked like it nipped back slightly, but Sussex will be delighted to break this partnership just after tea.

  11. WICKET Carlson c du Plooy b Bamber 77

    Middlesex v Glamorgan 321-3

The new ball does the trick!

The fifth ball of Ethan Bamber and he induces Kiran Carlson into an uppish drive and it's well taken by Leus du Plooy at short cover.

Carlson goes for a fine 77 and ends a stand of 176 for the third wicket.

  12. WICKET Hose c Yates b Barnard 2

    Warwks v Worcs 238-4

    What a catch.

The tide is just starting to turn for the hosts.

Angled in, seaming away with a thin edge and that's a superb low catch at slip by Yates, moving to his right to remove Adam Hose.

Time for Pears skipper Brett D'Oliveira to have a bat.

  13. WICKET J Broad LBW b Seales 27

    Sussex v Northants 66-2

Jayden Seales might have had a bit of luck with his first wicket - but this one is an absolute corker!

Cutting in off the seam, just slightly back of a length - and Justin Broad is stuck on the knee roll in front of middle.

    Karun Nair is in next.

  14. New ball

    Middlesex v Glamorgan 320-2

The 80 overs are up and Middlesex go straight for a new ball.

Ethan Bamber has the new Kookaburra cherry in his hand and he really needs to find a breakthrough for his side in this last hour.

  15. WICKET Jones c Burgess b Briggs 26

    Warwks v Worcs 235-2

Just a meteorological blip. We're back.

Briggs continues with his left arm spin... and strikes!

A leg side ball, tickled round the corner by Rob Jones to the keeper.

What a way to go. Especially on a day when bat has emphatically dominated ball.

    Adam Hose to bat next.

  16. up for Essex

    Notts v Essex 200-6

Not so long ago, Essex certainly wouldn't have anticipated being six down when they reached 200.

However, Dane Paterson's burst of wickets for Nottinghamshire means that's exactly where they are as Simon Harmer steers Dillon Pennington for a couple to bring up the team landmark.

Much depends on Jordan Cox, you suspect, if the visitors are to turn 200 into 300 or thereabouts.

  17. Post update

    Sussex v Northants 62-1

Procter ducks under a no ball bouncer as Ollie Robinson, bowling round the wicket, bends his back for the effort ball.

Robinson adjusts his length and Procter is forward, leaving the ball outside off.

    Four runs off the over.

  18. 'Paterson has nagged away'

    Notts v Essex 194-6

    Don Topley

    BBC Essex

This game has ebbed and flowed.

Dane Paterson has nagged away, it's not a glamorous job where you bowl nagging away boringly to stem the runs and take a few wickets, and he's done that very proudly for Nottinghamshire today.

Well bowled, but a little bit of a disappointment for Essex now with the score as it is.

It's been a miserable period of play for the away side.

  19. Play resumes at Hove

    Sussex v Northants 58-1

Sussex need to break through early here.

Northants skipper Luke Procter is 29 not out and resumes with Justin Broad on 23.

If we're really lucky, we'll get another 27 overs here.

And here comes Ollie Robinson to bowl to Procter.

  20. Bad light stops play

    Warwks v Worcs 235-2

That's all for now - and quite possibly for tonight.

Kashif Ali is marooned for now on 95 as a hint of rain and darkening overheads engulf Edgbaston.
