    Oscar Piastri has climbed to 12th place after disappointment in sprint qualifying yesterday. But the Australian has now been hit with a five-second time penalty after an earlier tussle with the Alpine of Pierre Gasly.

    George Russell says his front left is "toast" to the Mercedes pit wall and a few moments later, he loses another points place as Charles Leclerc spies the chance to inflict more wounds. Russell is now down to fifth place.

    There is drama all over the track in this sprint race. Carlos Sainz needs feeding again and picks off George Russell for third place! The Mercedes is struggling on his medium tyres and is now in danger of being hunted down by the second Scuderia of Charles Leclerc.

    Max Verstappen is over a second clear of rival Lando Norris, but the McLaren is catching up with the Red Bull...

    The [Ferrari cars] are fractions away from disaster at almost every single corner, it's great to watch but difficult to sit and watch though if you're a Ferrari person.

    Charles Leclerc has DRS - but so does his team-mate Carlos Sainz, so the two cancel each other out and stay in the same positions.

    Fernando Alonso is on the radio to his Aston Martin crew to say "the Alpha Tauri is such an idiot". He means Liam Lawson... in the RB!

    He is having a good run right now, but he needs to catch up to Russell who is all over Norris.

    Lewis Hamilton has gained one place in this sprint, swapping places with the Haas of Nico Hulkenberg. In fact, the German has also lost out to his team-mate Kevin Magnussen and is now running in the final points spot in P8.

    The man who will be sitting there looking at this Ferrari battle, probably sitting there rubbing his hands, is Lewis Hamilton in the other Mercedes.

    He knows as this race unfolds that Ferrari can't continue to battle their way through the sprint as it will hurt them. Hamilton is waiting to pick up the pieces.

    The fastest lap is parked by sprint leader Max Verstappen as Lando Norris finds George Russell suddenly too close for comfort. The Mercedes is trying to gain on the McLaren to swipe back his second place, but the perfect overtake has not presented itself... yet.

    Just getting another looking at the start, as well, it was a great start for Kevin Magnussen but a brilliant start for Lando Norris who managed to make use of getting a little bit of slipstream as well up towards turn one.

    Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz are grappling again! The Monegasque driver goes deep and ends up off the track, handing Carlos Sainz the chance to move up into that fourth place.
