Welcome to MacCumhaill Park in Ballybofey where the second year of the second coming of Jim McGuinness finally throws in.

Donegal were due to get their campaign underway last weekend away at Kerry but the game was postponed as a result of the impact of Strom Eowyn.

Jim McGuinness is able to name 11 of the side which lost to Galway in the All-Ireland semi-final, 10 starting with Patrick McBrearty on the bench.

One of the big headlines from the Donegal team is the absence of Michael Murphy from the squad named in the match programme, the 2012 All-Ireland winning captain returning to the fold after two years away.

Jim McGuinness can, however, give Finbarr Roarty a debut at corner back with the Glenties man expected to play a huge role this year.

Dessie Farrell names an unchanged side from the one which beat Mayo at Croke Park last Saturday with the eye-catching Kevin Lahiff retaining his place alongside familiar names such as Ciaran Kilkenny and Brian Howard.

Anticipation and expectation is high here in the Tir Chonaill county ahead of throw-in at half past seven.

Paddy Neilan of Roscommon is the man in the middle and if there are any changes closer to throw-in we'll bring them to you.

Donegal: Shaun Patton; Finbarr Roarty, Brendan McCole, Peadar Mogan; Ryan McHugh, Eoghan Ban Gallagher, Ciaran Moore; Michael Langan, Ciaran Thompson; Daire O Baoill, Conor O'Donnell, Shane O'Donnell; Hugh McFadden, Oisin Gallen, Odhran Doherty.

Subs: Gavin Mulreany, Mark Curran, Caolan Ward, Cian McMenamin, Eoin McHugh, Jonny Cartin, Domhnall MacGiolla Bhride, Patrick McBrearty, Jamie Brennan, Caolan McGonagle, Charles McGuinness.

Dublin: Gavin Sheridan; David Byrne, Theo Clancy, Sean MacMahon; Brian Howard, Cia Murphy, Greg McEneaney; James Madden, Killian McGinnis; Kevin Lahiff, Sean Bugler, Ciaran Kilkenny; Colm Basquel, Eoghan O'Donnell, Brian O'Leary.

Subs: Hugh O'Sullivan, Callum Ahearne, Luke Breathnach, Nathan Doran, Senan Forker, Alex Gavin, Davy Keogh, Tom Lahiff, Sean Lowry, Niall Scully, Conor Tyrrell.

    Armagh 1-14 Tyrone 0-3

Tyrone were hunting for a goal just as the hooter sounded.

Brian Kennedy was tripped and it looked like a penalty, but it is half time.

Armagh must be in dreamland as they are roared off by the jubilant home fans.

  3. Postpublished at 18:39 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February

    Armagh 1-14 Tyrone 0-3

Not that it hardly matters, but Seanie O'Donnell becomes the first Tyrone forward to score from play.

    Armagh 1-14 Tyrone 0-2

This is getting really ugly for Tyrone as Ethan Rafferty lands another two pointer.

We suggested these new rules could be made for him and so it's proved so far. He's scored 0-4 of Armagh's total and McGeeney's men must be loving this new two-point rule.

Armagh skipper Aidan Forker comes up big with another two-pointer.

They are loving playing with this wind.

Only two points in half an hour's football for Tyrone.

  7. Postpublished at 18:28 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February

    Armagh 1-8 Tyrone 0-1

Murnin takes the point from the edge of the two-point arc but because Tyrone 'keeper Niall Morgan touched the ball on its way over the bar, it only counts as one point. Another new rule to get your head around.

  8. Two pointer from Ethanpublished at 18:23 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February

    Armagh 1-7 Tyrone 0-1

Rafferty sends over a monster two-pointer from outside the '45' with his left boot.

Armagh have the wind at their backs but even so, that was a class score.

Andrew Murnin finds the net for Armagh!

Conaty finds Grugan who gets the ball across to Murnin who is flying in at the back post and palms it past Morgan.

That, after Conor Turbitt landed his second point of the night.

    Armagh 0-4 Tyrone 0-1

Aidan Forker fouls Kieran McGeary and Morgan steps up - but it's a bad wide from the edge of the 'D'. Tyrone badly needed a score there, because it's been all Armagh.

Shea O'Hare lands Tyrone's first point of the evening and it's taken all of 16 minutes.

The power has come back on in the streets around the Athletic Grounds and thankfully also to the press box.

Armagh have a strong wind at their backs and have started really brightly here and the home fans are loving it.

Ross McQuillan with their fourth point.

  13. Postpublished at 18:13 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February

    Armagh 0-3 Tyrone 0-0

Ethan Rafferty pushes up and tries his luck for two points with a looping effort that falls just short.

Before that Armagh did well to scramble away a goal effort from Michael McKernan off the line.

Oisin Conaty adds a third straight point for Armagh.

  17. Team news - Armagh v Tyronepublished at 17:52 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February

Orla Bannon at the Athletic Grounds

So, the big talking point from the late team changes comes from the Armagh dressing room with Ethan Rafferty replacing Blaine Hughes in goals.

For so long, Rafferty has been teed up as a perfect number one for Armagh under the new rule enchancements, given his former life as a county midfielder and ability to play out the field.

He should be an ideal '12th man' for Armagh under these new rules, as Niall Morgan is for Tyrone, so expect to see both keepers spending a lot of time up the field.

Kieran McGeeney has made a total of five late changes with Conor Turbitt replacing Stefan Campbell as an inside forward and Jemar Hall in for Cian McConville.

Ross McQuillan replaces Jarly Og Burns and forward Jason Duffy's late inclusion comes at the expense of defender Paddy Burns.

Niall Grimley is suspended for the All-Ireland champions after his rash red card in Armagh's defeat by Galway last weekend.

Just the one change for Tyrone and it's a big opportunity for Loughmacrory's Aodhan Donaghy to impress new boss Malachy O'Rourke. He comes in for Trillick's Ciaran Daly.

Armagh: Ethan Rafferty; Tomas McCormack, Barry McCambridge, Jason Duffy; Connaire Mackin, Aidan Forker, Greg McCabe; Ben Crealey, Ross McQuillan; Oisin Conaty, Rory Grugan, Darragh McMullan; Jemar Hall, Andrew Murnin, Conor Turbitt

Subs: Blaine Hughes, Gareth Murphy, Callum O'Neill. Fergal O'Brien, Ciaran Higgins, Paddy Burns, Jarly Og Burns, Ciaran O'Hanlon, Cian McConville, Shane McPartlan, Stefan Campbell

Tyrone: Niall Morgan; Aidan Clarke, Peter Teague, Niall Devlin; Frank Burns, Michael McKernan, Shea O'Hare; Brian Kennedy, Liam Gray; Seanie O'Donnell, Kieran McGeary, Aodhan Donaghy; Darren McCurry, Mattie Donnelly, Ronan Cassidy

Subs: Oisin O'Kane, Mark Bradley, Rory Brennan, Ben Cullen, Cathal Donaghy, Conn Kilpatrick, Ciaran Daly Nathan McCarron, Eoin McElholm, Lorcan McGarrity, Cathal McShane

The National Football League opened with one huge Ulster derby between Tyrone and Derry, and continues into week two with another one.

Malachy O'Rourke's side head down to the All-Ireland champions Armagh after their 2-13 to 1-9 victory over the Oak Leafers last weekend while the Orchard County are looking to bounce back from their opening day defeat to Galway in Salthill.

Saturday evening could also treat us to the sight of Michael Murphy back in a Donegal jersey for the first time in two years. The All-Ireland winning captain of 2012 is back from retirement and part of Jim McGuinness' panel for the visit of Dublin.
