Lewis Hamilton might be feeling positive but his new team-mate Charles Leclerc has a few more reservations about the SF-25 after finishing his pre-season.

Leclerc feels the team has a fair bit of work to do to understand how best to set the car up, having enjoyed a good feeling on day one but then not been too happy with the balance during his race simulation yesterday.

The timing of that simulation - with McLaren on track at a similar stage - was seen as positive, however, as Leclerc believes it helps highlight where any deficits might be.

Leclerc is still talking about small differences as well, rather than any glaring gaps. But the expectations are high at Ferrari and they want to be winning both championships this year.

Alpine team principal Oliver Oakes has been speaking as the test enters its final stages, and appears relatively encouraged by the car performance so far.

The target is for the team to pick up where they left off last year, finishing strongly to secure sixth place in the constructors’ championship.

Naturally, there were a lot of questions about Jack Doohan’s future, after the signing of Franco Colapinto as a reserve driver last month.

Oakes wants Doohan to be given space to settle in at the start of his rookie season, and wouldn’t set a target in terms of how he compares to Pierre Gasly, but says having quality reserve options does put the team in a strong position this year.
