Next up in Bahrain is world champion Luke Humphries, the man who beat Luke Littler 7-4 in a thrilling final at the Alexandra Palace just over a fortnight ago.

That title triumph capped an unbelievable year for the new world number one, who has pretty much captured every major title darts has to offer.

But, before his game against outsider Abdulla Saeed tonight, he insists his hunger remains undimmed.

"My motivation is high now. I'm going to be more dedicated than ever and I want to continue to be successful and win more major titles," said Humphries.

What a cracker of a match that was!

Luke Littler averaged almost 98 per three-dart visit - despite missing 17 of 23 doubles.

His average would have been stratospheric had he been more clinical - but the misses made it more exciting and Man Lok Leung gave him a heck of a game.
