Mark Taylor:, external Wonder how many United fans like me want City to win tonight, much better than the unthinkable alternative. Don't blow it City.

Matt Barron:, external I'll be amazed if City don't come out of the traps and are 2-0 up at half time. They won't mess this up

Jo Edwards: , externalVilla's starting line-up cost in the region of £19.3m. That's the same price as Kolarov was bought for.

"If City are going to put themselves in pole position to lift the title they will have to do so without Sergio Aguero. As expected, the Argentina striker does not feature tonight because of a groin injury that forced him off just after equalising against Everton on Saturday. The goalscoring burden will again fall to Edin Dzeko and the Bosnia forward is supported by David Silva, who is fit to start after entering as a substitute at Goodison Park, as well as Samir Nasri, James Milner and Yaya Toure.

"Villa's win against Hull last weekend was their first in seven games and their bid to upset the odds will be spearheaded by Andreas Weimann. Might the visitors be parking the bus?"

"Both sides bring their warm-ups to an end under steady rain inside a sparsely populated Etihad Stadium. City's players are cheered off by those who are inside the ground, with Yaya Toure the last to leave and looking fit and well after recent niggles."

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert on Sky Sports: "We know it's going to be hard but we will certainly try and cause City problems.

"Spoiling the title party is only good if you can do it but we will certainly give it a go. Sometimes, I know from experience at Celtic it can get edgy at times. Human nature dictates that. But we know they have done this before which will help them but there is still edginess there.

"We expect them to have a fast start but it's up to us to go and stop it."

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini: "Today I am not thinking about the title, it is important to play the way we did so far.

"The best way to win this game is to play the way we have all season. To be the aggressive team.

"The motivation is important but this is not the last game. We must win today and again on Sunday.

"You never know what happens in football. Everyone has said we win it already but I don't see it that way. I don't want to talk about the title."

"This is the second bite of the cherry for Manchester City. Second time around, now Liverpool drew against Palace, City have the comfort they can draw one of these games.

"I think this will be a comfortable victory. If they score early I can see them scoring four or five."

Aston Villa should expect a pretty intense atmosphere at Etihad Stadium tonight, with Manchester City calling on their supporters to "create an atmosphere that will send shivers down the players' spine and give them that extra yard". Fans have been told to "dress for the occasion" by wearing as much blue as possible in a posting on the club's official website. A bit like this...

Hands up who predicted Martin Demichelis was going to be one of Manchester City's most influential performers in the Premier League title run-in. I can't see many hands!

In fact, the Argentine has just picked up the club's player of the month award for April, with more than 50% of the vote. Is he a fans' favourite now, City supporters?

"The biggest thing you had to deal with in my time with Liverpool was the expectancy. There has not really been an outstanding team but you are not lucky to win the Premier League.

"If you had said Liverpool would be top of the league at this stage, we would have thought you'd come from Mars. They have had a great season."

Peter Collins: , externalAnybody saying L'Pool didn't buy the title, please tell me how many players are home grown at Anfield. They just buy cheaper.

Allan Wilson:, external Villa can play for pride, no relegation threat - love to see this end 1-1 and it all hinges on the weekend matches.

Aaron Noonan:, external No City fan thinks this is over. Winning 2 games in the Premier League is never a given.

It's incredible to think that Manchester City have now scored 96 Premier League goals this season, surpassing their previous record of 93 in 2011-12. It is now their third-highest top-flight scoring season ever (after 107 in 1936-37 and 104 in 1957-58). Can they reach three figures in their final two games? Maybe, but Manuel Pellegrini is not thinking about that just yet.

"We are not thinking of the goalscoring record," the Chilean manager said. "We are just thinking about winning these games.

"But it's important to continue with our style of football that we've played since the beginning of the season. We want to finish in the same way."

Barring a monumental swing in goal difference, West Brom can start planning for another season of Premier League football - but will it be with Pepe Mel as head coach? The Spaniard will have talks with chairman Jeremy Peace about his future next week.

"I need to listen to what the chairman has to say," said Mel. "I want to know what he has in mind for the future of this club, what are his plans.

"But I also want you to understand I'm an ambitious person and I want to be able to put forward my own arguments to take this club forward."

Is Pepe the man for the Baggies long-term? Let us know...

Sunderland fans can't have enjoyed many better seasons than this one. The Black Cats reached the final of the League Cup, won at Old Trafford twice (if you include the penalty shootout), did the double over Newcastle and appear likely to complete their own version of the Great Escape. But what is the greatest single achievement?

"Keeping Sunderland up," said manager Gus Poyet., external "For the consequences of going down and what it means to be in the Premier League, it's huge.

"It gives you fans right across the world. It's going to be expensive for me to take a few shirts over to Uruguay! People are talking about Sunderland now in many, many places - Spain, Argentina - and that brings something to the club for the future."

Now you know why there are so many Sunderland shirts knocking about in Montevideo.
