    Scotland defender Russell Martin passes a fitness test. The Norwich captain did not train on Saturday due to a groin strain, but has recovered in time. David Marshall is preferred to Allan McGregor in goal, with Steven Naismith leading the line in his 30th international appearance.

    Due to retirement and injury Germany boss Joachim Low fields just six of the side which started in the World Cup final against Argentina, with under-fire striker Mario Gomez spearheading the attack.

    Talk about tough starts! Scotland will certainly have to be brave if they are to emerge unscathed from their visit to Dortmund's Signal Iduna Park.

    The sound of bagpipes have been heard in Dortmund all day. Will Scotland fans be celebrating later?

    Thanks, Gary. It is 5,920 days since Scotland crumbled to a 3-0 defeat to Morocco in St Etienne. Craig Brown was the manager, Colin Hendry the captain. The Tartan Army had flooded France in their thousands for the 1998 World Cup finals but headed home with their dreams shattered once more.

    Scotland have not been seen at a major tournament since. But optimism is on the rise, fans are daring to believe. Gordon Strachan's men are unbeaten in their last six games.

    Can they book a return to France for Euro 2016? The journey starts here. The journey starts against world champions Germany.

    Dramatic stuff in Tbilisi as the Republic of Ireland look to have snatched all three points! It was all down to Aiden McGeady, who displays magical footwork just inside the area to turn and fire in with a sweet left-foot strike. Beautiful.
