It is a corking day of top-flight football tomorrow.

Manchester United will have their mettle tested by Everton in the lunchtime kick-off.

Then the focus switched south with Tottenham at home to Southampton and Cesc Fabregas and Chelsea taking on Arsenal. Both start at 14:05 BST.

West Ham v QPR? It is the fruit salad of desserts, but we'll take it.

    See you there.

Former Wales international Robbie Savage: "Manchester City can't defend on the break. Stoke went through them. Totti ran through their defence in midweek. Chelsea, on the break, went through them with Schurrle. Chelsea can defend. It is easier to score against City than Chelsea. I also think Chelsea will score more goals."

Former Wales international Robbie Savage: "I think Chelsea will win the league this year by five or six points. Because last year they had the best defensive record and had the best record against all the top teams. This year they have added one of the best goalkeepers in the world and one of the best midfielders."

    Premier League table

Two points off the top after seven games without really hitting warp-speed. Would City fans have taken that at the start of the season?

Or, with Chelsea in scintillating form and with a game in hand, might they have already ceded title-deciding ground?

Owen Hargreaves, Scott Sinclair , Javi Garcia, Jesus Navas - just some of the midfielders that have been brought to Manchester City since James Milner arrived from Villa.

The ever-dependable England man is still doing a job though. More than that in fact in recent weeks.

His good form continued against his old club. He created eight chances for City. David Silva was the next highest with three.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini: "When we have just eight minutes to go you are a little worried but I trusted that one of those chances would be scored because we have important players to do that.

"The way we played was the most important thing for me, we had 70% possession, created chances and that is very encouraging.

"I have told the players that in May you are going to win or lose the Premier League by just a point or so, so every one you drop on the way makes it more difficult.

"It is very difficult to recover the points against a team like Chelsea and the only way to do it is to win every game."

Tom, Manchester: Milner and Silva have been sublime today! All of Aguero's frustration from the missed chances all came flooding out in that celebration. Hopefully Yaya's goal gives him that confidence of last season back .

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert: "I thought it was a big effort from us, we defended strongly but they have quality all over the pitch and we were dead all over the pitch by the end.

"Gabriel Agbonlahor felt light-headed in the warm-up and it would have been too much to ask Christian Benteke to start.

"We were in that game for 82 minutes. We have played the top four in the league last season already, but we have come through it without any of them having beaten us badly."

Manchester City goalscorer Yaya Toure speaking to Sky Sports: "It is a fantastic win and after the draw against Roma. Full credit to Villa for the way they played but in the second half we did the job. The most important thing for me is to try my best. I need to work harder and continue going and the most important thing for me and the team is to repeat what we did last year."

    Aston Villa 0-2 Man City

It is a five in seven for Sergio Aguero in the Premier League so far this season - level with Saido Berahino and Leonardo Ulloa, but three short of Diego Costa and his serious bout of goal incontinence.

BBC Radio Manchester summariser Fred Eyre at Villa Park: "It was very hard fought for City. To Villa's credit they had a game-plan which they stuck to rigidly and was hard for City to break down. But it is easier to break that down when you have special players. You feel the constant pressure and probing paid off and while it took time that is what happened and from the moment Toure scored the game was won."

Start the car, this one is done and dusted. Sergio Aguero is picked out on the edge of the area by a zipped James Milner pass and does superbly to hold Nathan Baker and Philippe Senderos at bay and ping a shot into the far corner.

That is the Argentine's 81st goal for City in 131 games.
