    Scotland scorer Kim Little

"We'll need to go into the second match with the start that they had. It took us a long time to get going but in the second half we showed glimpses of what we can do. In the past two play-offs I've played in the best performances have been away from home."

    BBC Scotland's Tom English

"Scotland were far more aggressive in the second half and as a result they got into the game. They need to be more ruthless. At least Kim Little's penalty has given them hope."

Scotland head coach Anna Signeul: "I think we did a great second half. It's a strong team, Holland, but we can change this. We need to start much better than we did here. We need to go for it and score goals. When Rachel [Corsie] had to go off [with a bloody nose] we were on the back foot. We had a problem with Manon Melis at the beginning. It will be tough but we can score two goals. Emma [Mitchell] did very well when she came in. We know that she can play as well. We are not giving this up easily. That's the last [thing] that we will do."

Well, well, well. With Scotland committed to pushing forward for their late corner kick, the Netherlands break at pace and the impressive Manon Melis curls a shot against the post. That is a major let-off for the home team.

    Former Scotland international Julie Fleeting

"We need to get back to the danger we showed at the start of the second half, getting Kim Little and Jane Ross on the ball. I've been a bit disappointed with Lisa Evans' performance tonight. She's played very well in the qualifying matches so far."

Bayern Munich starlet Vivianne Miedema gets on the end of a lob over the line of Scotland defenders and volleys wide of Gemma Fay's left-hand post. That was lovely build-up play by the Dutch.

Jenny Beattie has been terrific at both ends of the pitch. Again, the Montpellier defender reads the danger and sweeps the ball off the toe of Manon Melis on the edge of the box.

Scotland's first-half substitute Emma Mitchell's shot from eight yards is deflected over the bar after the ball fell into her path from Kim Little's initial strike. From the resultant corner Jenny Beattie rises to meet the ball but heads wide. This is better - Loes Geurts's goal has come under threat more often in 15 minutes of the second half than the whole of the first period.
