Albion get a shot on target. I repeat, Albion have got a shot on target. Rookie Arsenal keeper Emiliano Martinez finally breaks sweat as he is forced into his first meaningful save - with little 10 minutes left - to gather Craig Gardner's low shot from a central position inside the Gunners box.

BBC Sport chief football writer at Anfield

"The front of Liverpool's match-day programme celebrates '16 sensational years' of captain Steven Gerrard - but it is not an anniversary he celebrates with a starting place as he is dropped to the bench against Stoke City.

"Brendan Rodgers has one eye on a heavy forthcoming fixture list, including a trip to Leicester City on Tuesday, but it is still a big decision from a manager hoping to end a run of three successive Premier League defeats.

"Gerrard sits on the bench in some expensive company - and also evidence of the current struggles of Liverpool's summer signings. He is joined by £87m worth of summer investment in the shape of Dejan Lovren (£20m), Alberto Moreno (£12m), Adam Lallana (£25m), Emre Can (£10m) and Lazar Markovic (£20m)."

  4. Team newspublished at 14:20 Greenwich Mean Time 29 November 2014

QPR defender Rio Ferdinand is kept out of the side once again with right-back Mauricio Isla coming in for the suspended Richard Dunne.

Leicester keep faith with the same side that drew 0-0 against Sunderland last time out, with striker Leonardo Ulloa, who has failed to net in seven games, keeping his place in the 11.

QPR XI: Green, Isla, Onuoha, Caulker, Suk-Young, Vargas, Barton, Henry, Fer, Kranjcar, Austin.

Leicester XI: Schmeichel, De Laet, Morgan, Wasilewski, Konchesky, Schlupp, Cambiasso, James, Mahrez, Vardy, Ulloa.

"Stephane Sessegnon coming off is a strange one. He's the only player who has had that creativity to see a pass.

"West Brom have looked, nervous, edgy, scared. Whatever the word is, the big word in football is confidence, and not many of these Albion players have got it. They can't complete basic passes over 10 yards."

But the Albion fans are less than impressed with the next change from boss Alan Irvine.

A loud chorus of 'You don't know what you're doing' rings around The Hawthorns as the Scot brings off Stephane Sessegnon and sticks on Greece forward Georgios Samaras. Can Georgey Boy prove them wrong?

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers makes two changes from the draw at Ludogorets Razgrad in midweek and one of them is particularly significant. The other change sees left-back Jose Enrique come in for Javier Manquillo.

Stoke XI: Begovic, Cameron, Shawcross, Wilson, Pieters, Nzonzi, Sidwell, Arnautovic, Bojan, Walters, Diouf.

"We are seeing the odd attack by West Brom but the away side are absolutely all over them. The West Brom change hasn't really made a difference, Arsenal still have all the possession, they are moving the ball around so easily and West Brom can't get up the field. You wonder now how many Arsenal can get. It's all Arsenal."

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgerson dropping Steven Gerrard to the bench: "We have a lot of games in a short period of time so we've just made a few changes to the team - nothing to do with form or anything like that. It is purely to freshen up the team in a one or two areas. Steven Gerrard has been a fantastic player and still is, but at this stage of his career he can't in play every game."

"A quick, swift attack from Arsenal, and it is that man Santi Cazorla who makes it. He has been the best player on the park. A little bit of skill to beat Andre Wisdom, he hangs up the cross, Ben Foster gets a hand to Danny Welbeck's header but it has too much power. Arsenal have deserved it."
