Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini was without Yaya Toure as the Blues went looking for a club record 10 successive wins. Toure was not even on the bench as Pellegrini made three changes, bringing in Aleksandar Kolarov, Jesus Navas and Pablo Zabaleta for Gael Clichy, Toure and Bacary Sagna.
Burnley boss Sean Dyche names the same team for the fifth successive game and there was no place even on the bench for Sam Vokes, who was a substitute against Liverpool on Boxing Day after being out since March. The Clarets are looking first away win in the league against City since 1963, although they did win the Charity Shield at Maine Road in 1973.
Manchester City XI: Hart, Demichelis, Kolarov, Mangala, Zabaleta, Milner, Silva, Fernandinho, Fernando, Navas, Nasri
Burnley XI: Heaton, Arfield, Trippier, Shackell, Jones, Keane, Marney, Mee, Barnes, Boyd.
Another game bites the dust. Or should that be frost? Either way, Accrington's League Two game against Burton has been called off.

League Two: Accrington v Burton

Remember, 19-year-old Saints left-back Matthew Targett is making his first Premier League start today in place of the ineligible Ryan Bertrand. Yet another one off the conveyer belt of talent at St Mary's.
Steve Bruce makes just one change for Hull and it is an enforced one with Jake Livermore filling in for the suspended right back James Chester.
Leicester, who are without a win in 13 matches, bring in Esteban Cambiasso and Matty James into the midfield in place of Danny Drinkwater and the injured Andy King.
Hull: McGregor; Livermore, Bruce, Davies, Rosenior; El Mohamady, Meyler, Quinn, Brady; Ramirez, Aluko.
Leicester: Hamer; Simpson, Wasilewski, Morgan, Konchesky; Mahrez, Cambiasso, James, Mahrez; Nugent, Ulloa.
Chelsea end the year how they started it - by playing Southampton. We're under way.
Yaya Toure is rested by manager Manuel Pellegrini and left out of Manchester City's matchday squad entirely.
Manchester City XI: Hart, Zabaleta, Demichelis, Mangala, Kolarov, Fernandinho, Fernando, Navas, Silva, Nasri, Milner
Pleasantries are exchanged between the two managers, who were both on the coaching staff together at Barcelona. "Nice to see you again, Jose."
Highway to the Danger Zone, a song made famous by the film Top Gun, belts out over the St Mary's PA system as the two teams make their way onto the pitch on a crisp, sunny winter's day. Who will be Top Gun by the end of the day? Chelsea or Manchester City?
Laurent Koscielny returns from injury to make his first Arsenal start since 3 December.
Arsenal XI: Szczesny, Debuchy, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal, Flamini, Coquelin, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Cazorla, Alexis, Welbeck
Spurs keeper Hugo Lloris: "We stayed in the game because we were strong defensively and we kept fighting. We were close to a big chance and our spirit was excellent."
Pete, Lochwinnoc: Could someone tell me what's going on with Forest this season? After such a good start why have they fallen away so badly?

MOTD's Steve Wilson at Etihad Stadium
"On 18 August 1973, 23,000 fans turned out at Maine Road (for younger readers, City used to play there) and saw Colin Waldron score the only goal in a Burnley win against a City team including Denis Law, Mike Summerbee, Rodney Marsh, Colin Bell and Frannie Lee.
"And why I am telling you all this? Because it's the last time Burnley won an away game at Manchester City - and because it shows that sometimes weird stuff happens, which means that one day they just may do it again."
MOTD's Martin Fisher at the Britannia Stadium
"A year ago I was spoilt for goals.
"The year 2013 drew to a close for me in the commentary box at the KC Stadium where Hull City rattled in six against a hapless Fulham side who were already waving the white flag of surrender and inviting relegation.
"I'm not expecting a repeat. In fact, just one goal would represent an upgrade on recent meetings between Stoke and West Brom at the Britannia, where the last two matches between the Midlands duo have finished 0-0."
MOTD's John Roder at Villa Park
"You can read Sunderland's recent results a couple of ways depending if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person - one win in eight, or just two defeats over the same number of matches. Their Boxing Day defeat at home to Hull was a bitter reality check after the euphoria of victory at Newcastle.
"The year as a whole has been difficult for Villa, particularly when they recorded just one win in nine at the end of last season, and went nine matches without a victory from September to earlier this month."
MOTD's Dan O'Hagan at the KC Stadium
"This is a game which could be a springboard for the Tigers - who are looking for back-to-back Premier League wins for the first time in 15 months.
"Hull surely won't get a better chance to right that statistic, given Sunday's opponents have earned just three points and four goals from nine away trips this season."
MOTD's Guy Mowbray at Loftus Road
"Win at home, lose away has been the QPR way for seven games now, and they have to be favourites to continue the trend against a Palace side that hasn't won away from Selhurst Park in six matches - and only once all season.
"A home win would extend an even more important pattern for Rangers of beating those around them near the bottom of the table. Sunderland, Villa, Burnley, Leicester and West Brom have all come to Loftus Road and lost. Adding a couple of wins away would surely make all the difference to their chances of staying up."
MOTD's John Motson at Upton Park
"The Hammers will be keen to avoid losing any momentum over the festive period, where a few poor results can see your league position come down as quickly as the Christmas decorations.
"This should be a cracking London derby played at what is sure to be packed and noisy Upton Park.
"The teams appear evenly matched and I'm expecting plenty of goals - it's just the kind of match you want to be watching over Christmas."
Before we get under way at St Mary's, however, let me pass over to the Match of the Day commentators...
