"Burnley thoroughly deserved it, coming from being a goal down, 2-1 down and 3-2 down. They have got a little bit up front and they are starting to find their feet now."

Burnley manager Sean Dyche: "We had to make three changes and it was all going off in that first half.

"We had to deal with it and after that I thought we were outstanding, right to the death when we were still looking to score.

"The belief was still there and I thought some of the quality of our play was exceptional.

"Going into Christmas people said we might not win a game but we have taken five points from five teams in the top 10 and two in the top four. We still need get more points but we are going in the right direction and the performance levels are very high."

Newcastle caretaker manager John Carver: "I don't think I have been involved in such a game of, to use the old cliche, two halves.

"We controlled the game and played really good football in the first half but the second half was pretty awful.

"I thought we had got out of jail (with Cissoko's goal) but they should have won the game. They were the better team over 90 minutes. They caused us more problems than we did them.

"We think Steve Taylor has snapped his Achilles tendon, which is disappointing."

West Ham manager Sam Allardyce: "We would have had three points if we had a little bit more patience and stop getting over-anxious in terms of throwing too many forward.

"In trying to be creative we were over-creative and then they scored on the break. It's always difficult to play three games in such a short space - you could see the fatigue level in both teams.

"West Brom camped themselves in their half after the break. We didn't manage to break them, apart from the Aaron Cresswell free-kick."

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers: "We missed an opportunity at 2-0 up but I can't be too disappointed. We didn't play well and Leicester did, so a point was about right. We've got seven points out of nine, and that keeps us moving forward.

"We said at half-time it was still a dangerous game and once they got momentum they continued to play well. We didn't create enough in final third to warrant three points."

West Brom assistant Rob Kelly: "Both teams created chances and could have nicked it. The game got strung out a little bit. It was a good testament to our players that we played well until the end. West Ham are a top six team.

On the messages sent from new manager Tony Pulis in the stands to the bench: "There weren't really that many messages. We put into work the gameplan [former manager] Alan Irvine put in place. They came up with one or two ideas [Pulis and his former assistant Dave Kemp]. They let me, [fellow coach] Keith Downing and [goalkeeping coach] Dean Kiely get on with it."

Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert: "It was frustrating because we never took our chances. We looked comfortable with a lot of possession. We have lost two of the last 10 but we would like some more wins in there. In all credit to them we kept on going but we could have got a goal or two.

"You have to give Palace credit because they got everyone behind the ball and sat deep and kept it tight. We had creativity there but never took our chances.

"I remember playing here last year against Palace and got hit by a sucker punch and we didn't want that to happen again. You don't want players to pass for the sake of passing. We have started something new and we just need to finish it off.

[On whether there will be any transfer activity at Villa in January?] "I don't know. I need to speak with the chairman and the chief exec. If we can do something and it is right for the club financially I am sure we will."

Swansea striker Wilfried Bony, who started on the bench: "It was up to the coach to make his choice. Everyone wants to play, when I came on the pitch I wanted to show him i should have started. I felt we deserved to win the game but in the circumstances one point was not bad."

QPR manager Harry Redknapp: "It is a frustrating to concede with a minute-and-a-half to go. We should have seen the game out from there. We couldn't have asked for any more from the players.

"Leroy Fer is a great striker of the ball, we need him to keep shooting. He has all the tools, he can be bit casual when he needs to be a bit sharper but the sky is the limit for him. How Charlie Austin's chance didn't go in right at the end I don't know. It was two points dropped for us. We need to start winning games away and I think we need another six wins further down the line (to survive)."

Swansea manager Garry Monk: "Rob Green clearly handballed outside the area. There was no obstruction. It baffles me. It was a game-changing moment for us. We didn't get that decision and we have to move on with the game.

"I don't know what more I can say in terms of these situations happening with us. We seem to be on the wrong end of nearly all of them. Wayne could have had his leg broken. The linesman said Wayne Routledge kicked out but replays show he doesn't. I hope people see sense. I hope the authorities do the right thing and we get the red card rescinded. In the end we got out just rewards with Wilfried Bony's goal."
