The Tony Pulis effect is well and truly kicking into gear at The Hawthorns and Swansea captain Ashley Williams expects a tougher game as a result tonight.

Pulis, 57, led Crystal Palace to safety last season and he replaced Alan Irvine at the Hawthorns on 1 January.

The Baggies have lost one of the seven games since the Welshman took charge.

"Tony Pulis is there now and we all know what sort of manager he is, so we know it's going to be a tough game," Williams said.

"What you know with his sides is that they're going to be organised and very difficult to beat.

"I'm sure he's trying to implement that there, and it's about us trying to break them down. But they're at home so they should come out a little bit and hopefully it's a good game."

"Much was muttered and written during my time in the North East," Pardew wrote., external "As this is the first chance I have had to talk directly to the Newcastle supporters and the players who worked so hard for me since my departure, it is a great opportunity to reflect on a period that was much discussed and unfairly judged in my opinion.

Ah, well done everyone. We asked you for what in football you would ban, and you're all coming up trumps:

Antony Potts: I would ban that ridiculous heart shaped hand gesture that Bale, et al do. It's rubbish.

Chris Morgan: It's got to be drop balls and the 'additional referees' in Champions League games!

Kaspar Larsen: Ban players wailing about in agony, only to be perfectly fine after a trip to the sideline. It's disgraceful.

  18. Call the Pulispublished at 18:49 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February 2015

    Tony PulisImage source, PA

He may be known as one of the wiliest football managers in the Premier League, but West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis has been outwitted by a player from Northern Ireland's third division.

Limavady United midfielder Blain Morrison hoodwinked Pulis with an impersonation of fellow countryman and Bolton Wanderers boss Neil Lennon during a prank call.

When the Welshman returned his phone message he coaxed him into believing Lennon was making a loan bid for Northern Ireland international defender Gareth McAuley.

During the call, Pulis was not in the mood for letting the Larne man leave The Hawthorns however, describing him as a "top lad".
