Stacy Phillips: Liverpool were so concerned about Sergio Aguero getting a shot off, four players were on him, forgetting all about Edin Dzeko.
Mark Taylor: Can't see Liverpool sustaining this pace for another hour, especially after their Thursday night jaunt. City to come good.

The City fans in the Anfield Road stand are the ones making all the noise now. Momentum has shifted to their side after Edin Dzeko's opener. Spanish magician David Silva conjures up a free-kick, about 35 yards out and towards the left touchline. But City go short, mess around a bit and then cheaply hand back possession with the cheers of the Liverpool fans ringing in their ears.

"David Silva got in between the lines, found Sergio Aguero who played a beautiful little reverse pass for Edin Dzeko. I can't say it has been coming but there is so much quality on show today."
Well, well, well. Liverpool have enjoyed the better chances - but Manchester City are level. The Blues pass their way through the home defence, David Silva and Sergio Aguero combining for Bosnia striker Edin Dzeko to calmly slide past Simon Mignolet from around the penalty spot. And to think most City fans wanted Wilfried Bony to start instead of Dzeko...

"Both defences look a little unsure, Dejan Lovren has not started that well and Manchester City are trying to force the issue. Liverpool are sitting deep and trying to counter and that worked for them early on but City seem to have a measure of this game now."
Liverpool sense more goals here. City's defence is rocking. Pablo Zabaleta is left kicking at thin air as Alberto Moreno breezes past him to lash a rising shot over the away goal.
Then moments later, hulking City centre-back Eliaquim Mangala is left seeing stars as Raheem Sterling turns him inside and out with his quick feet. The England forward flashes a low ball across the City goal, but no-one is there to convert.
Groans from the Anfield Kop as Liverpool centre-back Dejan Lovren and keeper Simon Mignolet go all 'Chuckle Brothers'. It is a case of 'to me, to you' as the pair leave a City throughball to each other. They sort things out though before Sergio Aguero arrives on the scene.
Reiss May: Vincent Kompany just isn't the consistent performer he has been over the last few seasons. Panicky and rash now. Man City's defence is weak.
Jordan Winter: Jordan Henderson has stepped up his game since Steven Gerrard's intentions to leave came out.

City have responded well to that early setback - and remember they also trailed after six minutes in this fixture last season. In fact, they trailed 2-0 before battling back to 2-2, Oh, then Philippe Coutinho netted a late winner for the Reds. Most neutrals (and Liverpool fans) will settle for that today...
City right-back Pablo Zabaleta, caught upfield and out of position as Jordan Henderson thumped in the opener, tries to spark his side into life. However, the Argentine fails to find a light blue shirt with a pair of deliveries from the flank.
BBC Radio Manchester summariser Fred Eyre at Anfield
"Pulsating stuff. Sergio Aguero runs through a channel to the left of the Liverpool goal, he hits a great effort after drawing the goalkeeper but while Jordan Henderson's went in, Aguero's shot hits the post.
"Manchester City are under the cosh here though, and Joe Allen is the main instigator. He may not be everybody's favourite player but he is operating in so much space here."
City almost level! Sergio Aguero latches on to a long punt forward by David Silva as the Reds defence part like the, er, Red Sea. The Argentine beats home keeper Simon Mignolet with a sweet half volley - but he can't beat the right post. This game is wide open...
I'm afraid more questions need to be asked of City skipper Vincent Kompany there. Not the decisive play expected of the Belgian...
BBC Radio Manchester summariser Fred Eyre at Anfield
"A world class, curling effort right into the top right corner from Jordan Henderson, but Manchester City gave the ball away and that was the catalyst for it. Fernandinho dropped his pass short and it left Vincent Kompany with too much to do."
Liverpool aren't denied the lead this time! Anfield erupts as Reds skipper Jordan Henderson arrows a 20-yard screamer into the top left-hand corner of the champions' goal. Wonderful strike!
Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana, moments after firing at City keeper Joe Hart when clean through, sticks the ball in the onion bag with a brilliant volley. But the England man is rightly denied by an offside flag.
Manchester City are still hogging the ball in these early exchanges. A loose ball breaks to Yaya Toure - exactly the man who you want the ball to drop to on the edge of the opposition area. Ah, but not on this occasion. The big Ivorian shins the ball out to the right touchline...

While digesting the Anfield latest here, you can also catch Match of the Day 2 Extra for a look back to Saturday's action on BBC One, BBC Radio 5 live and online from 12:15 GMT. Host Mark Chapman is joined by former England midfielder Danny Murphy, Burnley defender Steven Reid, and Andy Dunn from the Mirror.
Later there'll be Match of the Day 2 itself - today it's on at 22:30 on BBC One, and from 23:30 for viewers in Scotland.
Plus tonight there will be highlights of the Chelsea v Tottenham League Cup final on The League Cup Show, on BBC One from 23:35 and from 00:35 in Scotland.
Brisk start on Merseyside. Particularly from the visitors, with Sergio Aguero predictably instigating things. City's Argentine talisman fires wide after wriggling clear of the Liverpool defence, but the Reds would have been saved by the linesman's raised flag anyway.
BBC Radio Manchester summariser Fred Eyre at Anfield
"I did expect to see Wilfried Bony start the game for Manchester City. You don't pay that sort of money for a player to just come off the bench every game. It's a big, big game, and he's a big player who cost a lot of money. I also expected James Milner to start. This is a perfect game for somebody like him, who is willing to work hard for the team."
