Steven: The Manchester United players need to tell Louis van Gaal: "LET ME PLAY!" All these tactics, slow slow slow!

Sam Watkins, Chichester: Absolutely fuming, Saints need to better than this if we want top four, pull your socks up lads!

Narek, Bromley: Van Gaal has to go before it's too late. These top class players won't qualify for Champions League once again.

"It's not a particularly inspiring game. It's a bit niggly. A draw will be a good result for Steve Bruce and Hull.

"Whenever I see Bruce's players, they look like they're playing for him."

Stoke have started to edge this one, but are failing to stretch Hull keeper Allan McGregor. Potters winger Victor Moses has looked the sharpest player on the pitch.

These Manchester United chances are starting to arrive quicker than peak-time Tube trains at Oxford Circus. A home corner drops to the feet of Marcos Rojo, whose low shot is hacked off the Black Cats line by Seb Larsson.

Can Louis van Gaal's men find a breakthrough before half-time? About five minutes (plus stoppages) to go.

    Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown
    Final Score

"Now Aston Villa are going to have to show all sorts of personality and character. They were having the better of the possession but now Newcastle's tails are up. It's like a knife to the heart when you're in Villa's position - every goal you concede can really damage you."

    Papiss Cisse celebratesImage source, AP

"It's really important that Villa get to half-time, regroup and try to get back into the game. If they go 2-0 down before half-time, it's game over.

"John Carver got the job at Newcastle until the end of the season because he's popular. It's about results. If they play OK, he's got a chance of getting the job full-time."

Free-kick on the edge of the Sunderland box - Wayne Rooney is the man hovering over the ball. The United skipper pulls rank and whips a lovely effort towards the roof of the Sunderland net. But lanky Black Cats keeper Costel Pantilimon is alert to push over.

It gets worse for Aston Villa. Daryl Janmaat crosses from the right, the ball is missed by the Villa defence, and Papiss Cisse controls with his first touch before clinically finishing low into the net.

  20. Postpublished at 15:36 Greenwich Mean Time 28 February 2015

Not an abundance of goals to shout about in the Premier League so far this afternoon and we don't look like getting one at Turf Moor at the moment. The Clarets have had the better chances but poor quality all round so far in East Lancashire.
