Stoke make four changes to the team beaten by West Brom last time out.

Geoff Cameron, Marko Arnautovic, Mame Biram Diouf and Stephen Ireland come in, while Jon Walters is named as a substitute despite recovering from a broken cheekbone.

Crystal Palace make one change, with Pape Souare replacing Martin Kelly. Wilfried Zaha and Jason Puncheon both start despite injury concerns.

The resulting free-kick from the foul on Stephane Sessegnon is pumped into the area and knocked behind to give West Brom their first corner of the game, but it comes to nothing.

A darting run from Stephane Sessegnon is ended by Gael Clichy midway inside the Manchester City half and the Baggies have a free-kick, much to the delight of the travelling West Brom fans.

BT Sport commentator Darren Fletcher is reporting that referee Neil Swarbrick told one of the channel's reporters at half-time that sending off Gareth McAuley was a case of mistaken identity and that the first number he saw during the incident was 23, rather than the 25 of Craig Dawson.

I'm sure we'll hear lots more about this after full-time.

Benny Fee: Danny Mills do a refereeing course and get yourself out in the middle. Then you'll see how tough it is.

Matt Atkinson: Anyone would think McAuley was Messi listening to Mills. Unfortunate mistake yes, but not a big deal or influence on result.

Michael Griffin: Can we just get rid of every referee in this country and find an entirely new set? They've been so bad all season so far.

"Manchester City needed a reaction and we wanted to see them come out and show one after the two games they lost. But the red card changed the game and it's a shame, because instead this has been played like a testimonial. City are in complete control, they're just passing ball around, while West Brom have shown no desire to go forward. It's just an opportunity for Wilfried Bony to add to his goal."

A rare foray into the Manchester City half as James Morrison has the ball, but the attack breaks down and Manchester City are off on the counter. Sergio Aguero gets into the area, pulls the back for the onrushing David Silva but his shot is kept out by Boaz Myhill.

Boaz Myhill is doing his best Joe Hart versus Barcelona impression at the moment as Sergio Aguero leaves Jonas Olsson in his wake and shoots low from close range but Myhill reacts well to stab the shot away with his toe.

Moments later, Wilfried Bony fires through a crowd and just wide. City have picked up from where they had left off.

"West Brom are playing incredibly deep. Saido Berahino is up front but is more of a lone midfielder than a lone striker. We've spoken at great length about the sending off, and since then this game has been so one-sided it is absolutely ridiculous."

Sergio Aguero in full flight is a delight to watch. He picks up the ball just inside the West Brom half and drives goalwards before the outstretched foot of Craig Dawson stops him in his tracks just outside the area. No free-kick, though.
