Slick passing from the French, who are starting to find their groove. PSG midfielder Blaise Matuidi's angled shot from 18 yards hits a yellow shirt and spins out for another home corner. Remember what happened last time....

"Allez Les Bleus" is the chant ringing around the Stade de France as the home side spring forward again. But Bacary Sagna's curling cross from the right cannot find a blue shirt. Instead it finds the forehead of Brazil centre-back Danilo, who butts it clear.

Let's see what Brazil have got in the locker. Neymar desperately tries to wriggle clear of the home defence, twisting and turning on the edge of the French box. But he is soon robbed of the ball and France break again...

A chance goes begging at one end, another is snaffled at the other moments later. How many times have we seen that? France centre-back Raphael Varane climbs above the Brazil defence to meet Mathieu Valbuena's left-wing corner with a thumping header. Brazil keeper Jefferson had no chance.

    Chance! Neymar! Goal? No.

Brazil pounce on a sloppy pass from Morgan Schneiderlin, putting Neymar through. But his curling effort is pushed clear by Steve Mandanda.

We asked for your favourite French and Brazilian players. You haven't disappointed. Here are some more of your comments.

    Zinedine ZidaneImage source, AP

Naveed Afzal: My love for football started with Zinedine Zidane. There is nothing that man couldn't do. He made the difficult look easy.

James: I would have Jairzinho. Absolutely fantastic player and great finisher. One of the best Brazilian players of all.

Stephen: Youri Djorkaeff. Otherwise known as "le god" in Bolton. Absolute hero when I was young.

Very quiet inside the Stade de France as Brazil win their first corner of the evening. But a Les Bleus shirt is perfectly positioned to head clear Filipe Luis's set-piece.

I thought I was sat at St James' Park for a moment then. That's because energetic Newcastle midfielder Moussa Sissoko picks up the ball in his own half, before trying to kickstart a French half with a quick burst. How many times have we seen that? But the move breaks down and Brazil win back possession.

Andy Horton: Take Valbuena out the game and French set pieces get considerably worse.

Ben Johnson: Except Sakho, what a team France have though... on paper anyway.

No real pattern has developed to this match so far. Brazil quite happy to sit back, be patient and then spring forward when they sense an opportunity.

Neymar is the driving force behind this Brazil side, so it is not surprising to see him power forward on the attack. The Barca forward selflessly rolls the ball square to his right where Firmino is in support. But his 20-yard shot is tame and easily gathered by Les Blues keeper Steve Mandanda.

We asked for your favourite French and Brazilian players of all time.

Scott Brand: Zico just because he is the greatest player never to win World Cup.

Dangerous position for the Brazilians. Can the visitors survive their first test? Yes, for the time being. Danilo heads away the danger for a corner, which then almost leads to the opener....

Karim Benzema should score. The France skipper pounces on a cross, heading goalwards from inside the six-yard box, only to see Brazil keeper Jefferson wonderfully claw the ball out.

Finally France stick their foot on the ball. Manchester City right-back Bacary Sagna is firmly in the thick of the action, playing a ball down the line towards captain Karim Benzema, who wins a free-kick...

Uh oh. Jose Mourinho will be watching nervously. Chelsea winger Willian crumbles to the lush turf after tangling with Mathieu Valbuena, with what appears to be an ankle injury. He is helped up to his feet by a couple of Brazil team-mates - he's alright. Phew, says Jose.

  16. Postpublished at 20:05 Greenwich Mean Time 26 March 2015

Low key start as Brazil enjoy plenty of early possession - to the chagrin of the home crowd. Whistles greet every touch from a yellow shirt as they patiently knock the ball around on the halfway line.

  17. KICK-OFFpublished at 20:02 Greenwich Mean Time 26 March 2015

Referee Nicola Rizzoli quickly tots up the numbers of the players on the greener-than-an-apple green pitch, is happy there are 22 men out there, then peeps his whistle. Brazil get the ball rolling.

A sombre moment ahead of kick-off. The Stade de France falls silent as players, coaches, officials and fans pause for a minute to remember the 150 victims of the Germanwings air crash in the French Alps on Tuesday.

More of your favourite French and Brazilian players. Keep them coming in to us.

Michael Bench-Capon: Claude Makelele. Only player in history to become synonymous with his position.

Stephane Baroux: Zidane because he was a magician and controlled games, Ronaldo because he was ice cold and ruthless in front of goal.

Paul Stephenson: Stephane Guivarc'h and Mirandinha. Neither could resist the fruits of Newcastle United.
